John Ruskin's book Unto This Last made a tremendous early impression on Gandhi while he was in South Africa. In 1908, he translated it into his native Gujarati entitling it Sarvodaya (the welfare of all) which he describes as more of a paraphrase of Ruskin's work. This ebook is of the English translation of that work by Valji Govindji Desai. Personally, I find it more approachable than Ruskin's original which used rather difficult English.
