Carroll, Lewis: Sylvie and Bruno (Complete, Illustrated) PDF (9x12cm) v2 4 July 2009
Lewis Carroll started writing "Sylvie and Bruno" and "Sylvie and Bruno Concluded" as a single work, but then decided to publish it in two parts in 1889 and 1893. I've created an eBook of the two parts together. This is a hard work to classify. It has fantasy, it has humor, it has philosophy, some parts are niche for children, some parts contain more "grown-up" thoughts. Nevertheless, the style and imagination of Carroll is evident throughout the book. It is also surprising how he manages to touch so many subjects of interest today, quotes and situations can be found to illustrate relativity, evolution, topology, emergent intelligence, self-referencing... It's, in my opinion, a very pleasant work to read and a nice discovery.
The book is fully illustrated with the 92 original illustrations by Harry Furniss. I created the PDF with pdflatex. The book is nicely formatted and typeset, with table of contents, etc. It's also proofread. It has minimal margins, and 9pt font size ("-ss" stands for small screen), it may be too small for some people, but the source files are available on request if someone wants to try different settings. I also added a "chapterbar" to the top of every page. It has two bars marking the progress on the whole book and on the current chapter, which I hope are unobtrusive and helpful enough. Any kind of feedback is welcome. (Due to the illustrations, the file is above the limit size for PDFs, therefore it's uploaded as a ZIP) EDIT (v2): Fixed typo in the title page.
