A Change in the "Deals, Freebies, and Resources (No Self-Promotion)" Stickies
In the interest of making things easier for everyone, there has been a change in the way the book deal stickies for the various genres work in the Deals, Freebies, and Resources (No Self-Promotion) forum. Whereas before they all remained active for only one month, now each sticky will have a one year time limit. You will notice the change in the titles of the threads immediately. That means all of you who have been creating new threads each month and asking for them to be made stickies will now only have to do that one a year on the first of January.

Well I quite like the change to annual threads for the most popular genres.
ATDrake seems to have caused quite a shake up in the Deals Forum but at least the most common threads are now quickly accessed via the Stickies section. I don't bother looking through most of the non-stickied deals much now because I can't be bothered with the numerous single book threads Drake's created and keeps on creating on the spurious grounds that the ebooks have a short expiry date. Really!!. Last edited by Lynx-lynx; 09-05-2014 at 10:52 PM. |

Thank you very much, I don't have a problem with the individual threads anymore now that the threads important to me are easily accessible.

Thanks, WTSharpe. Much easier to manage subscriptions and ignore threads when they are not restarted every month.

I appreciate the thanks, but this was the work of the entire moderation team. Dr. Drib's the one who made the suggestion and got the ball rolling and pdurrant's the one who changed the thread titles, but everyone had input into the decision.

It makes sense I think. NaNoWriMo does something similar with its threads. They stay up and intact for a yr and then sometime in late Sept. or early Oct. they clear the old threads off and start setting up new threads for the Nov. NaNoWriMo of the present year.
