Sorry, what's the switch on the left of the CF slot for?
Well, I don't know if it has something to do with the CF, I don't have any. Moreover I couldn't find it in the manuals.

for ejecting the card
pull it "up" and then push it, the "plastic" card will come out.
for real cf cards, whcih have a high "hold" force, this is good |

On the left looking at it from behind? That's to push the CF card out (like you sometimes have for some slots in laptops)
