FREE/BARGAIN - Science Fiction, Fantasy - 2016

This thread is for pointing out free and bargain Science Fiction and Fantasy titles to each other. Please don't post any self-published books (unless you have read them yourself, think they are excellent, and you're not connected to the author in any way) and please do a search before posting to avoid duplicates.

Because Kindle freebies are the easiest to find, the majority of books listed here will probably be from Amazon. That being said, deals from other retailers and/or in other formats are certainly more than welcome!
In the event that no retailer is specifically mentioned in a post, it is safe to assume the deal is for Amazon US.

As always -- if a deal could span multiple subjects, please cross-post to ALL applicable deals megathreads.
This is pretty much the one time when double-posting is not only allowed, but encouraged. Seize the opportunity!

Keep in mind, most freebies last only for a day or two, so grab them fast!

Jack L Chalker's Midnight at the Well of Souls is this month's free ebook at Phoenix Pick.

Or, if you're willing to spend money, they are offering very good deals on three of his series of books, with the biggest discount being 15 books for $20.

Got it!

Thanks, Paul.

Has anyone read any of his books? I'm quite familiar with his name and his early fan beginnings before he turned pro. (He's now dead, by the way.)

Anyone?

That seems like an incredible deal - 15 books for only $20

I've read his Well of Souls, Three Kings and Quintara Marathon books (they were published by Baen).

There are some interesting ideas, and are rather action orientated. A very good buy at $20 for three series.

I read "Midnight ..." when it came out in '77. It moved fast and (at the time) I found parts difficult to follow and wound up re-reading a few sections, but liked it. Over the years it would cross my mind, but I never got around to re-reading the whole book. Recently I decided to give it another go -- in fact, I wound up buying it a few weeks ago.

Four Lords of the Diamond and Pirates of the Thunder are two of my favorite SF series. Unfortunately, Pirates hasn't made it to ebook.

Four Lords of the Diamond is awesome and incredible. I don't think I've read anything else by him.

I'm just sorry these eBooks are from Phoenix Picks. Whoever they have making eBooks should be fired.

I got the Chalker deal also. I agree that Phoenix picks should be able to do a better job with the ebooks. Also it was 16 for $20 instead of 15.

Ah - but one of those 16 you could get for free. So I counted it as paying $20 for 15 books, and one free one.

They have actually improved. Their epubs used to be a single html file with no css file or the majority of styles were in the html. This one has css and 29 html files. Whether it's done well or not I don't know, but it's certainly an improvement.
