Updating an App
Perhaps a silly question, but if a company releases an updated version of an App, how do you install it? Is it just a question of re-downloading the App to the iPad? Does the App store recognise that you've already purchased it, and let you download it again for free?

Yep, that it exactly Harry. If you look at the App Store icon on your device it'll show a little red number against it for the number of apps you have installed that have updates available. If you go to App Store > Updates you'll get a list of them; you can choose to update them all or individually.

iTunes will also display pending updates if you would rather update on a desktop and then sync via USB.
