Irex Iliad any good?

I see that there are a few Iliads around still. Were there some quality issues with these? Would you trust a refurbished one?

They seemed really advanced for the time. How do you think they stack up to the Onyx Boox 60 or x60, or the newer pocketbook 903 or the Asus that is supposedly out in Europe?

Here is a thread about what I am looking for. An old Iliad might be on the list of options.

How does it handle large PDF documents and books?

For pdf, djvu documents and books, I would rather go for a DR1000 or 800, depending on your needs.
