Do you still buy physical books?
Do you still buy physical books? Until yesterday, since 2010 I bought only 1 physical book and that is only because my favorite author responded to my email and sent me a signed bookplate so I got the physical book for the book plate. It was Red Window by Alma Katsu.
Yesterday I had an urge to go to Barnes and Noble and buy books. I purchased H.P. Lovecrafts Complete Fiction(B&N Collectible Edition), Hurricane Wars( B&N Exclusive Edition), A Court of Thorns and Roses, and Starling House( B&N Exclusive Edition). I am kinda excited to read an actual real book. I never realized how bad my eyesight is trying to read the small print. Good thing I have a strong pair of reading glasses on hand. Not sure why I bought these, I guess I kinda need a change of pace with my reading. |

Only when there is no digital edition (which sadly is sometimes the case with local books). If an ebook exists, I prefer that. I don't like to read paper books anymore.

Same, I think I was just needing a temporary change of pace with my reading. its so easy to buy ebooks and not read them. I have like nearly 2,000 ebooks and probably only read 500 or less. I am hoping I will be more likely to read and finish with these.

I'm far less likely to read a paper book than an ebook. I have piles of paper books I have never even opened, because I just don't want to read on paper.

The last time I read a paper book was because I had to go to court. The local courts do not allow any electronic devices at all except for court officials and police officers.

I used to be guilty of it. Piles of books all over the house including in the bookcases. Not now though since I got an e-reader.

Only picture-heavy books, e.g. art, architecture, cookbooks, etc. One such book I recently bought is The Food Lab by Kenji Alt-Lopez. Definitely worth having a physical copy in the kitchen!

Anyone adult who needs to learn how to hard-boil and egg should stay out of the kitchen.

In fact, I cook as little as possible and love to avoid the kitchen. But hard-boiled eggs can be hard to get right and Alt-Lopez's method results in shells that almost fall off the egg. And no ice bath, either. He boiled 700 eggs to finetune his method, which shows it's not all that easy even for a professional cook.
