Kindle Oasis 2017 Screen corners
Hi,
I wondered if anyone has had problems with the corners on their Kindle not being able to go black any more. I swear mine weren't like it yesterday. It's only small but wondering if I should be worried if it's going to get worse! Thanks |

Looks like some light bleed? You sure it wasn't already there? Not sure how that can be caused later, since the front glass is flat over it. Hmm. I just checked on mine and it doesn't have any bleed. But I never use the inverted so it wouldn't bother me even if it did. But looks to be all even.
Can the frame underneath somehow get removed from whatever its covering up? If you turn the light down a bit is it still bothering you? |

Mine is much the same on the right side, but it doesn't have the bright corner like yours on the lower left.
I only tried the inverted screen once and don't really care for it. It reduces the contrast too much for me. For reading in a dark room, I turn the front light down, and sometimes increase the line spacing. |

That is certainly light bleed, not a failure of the e-ink to go black.
I just now looked at mine in a pitch black closet with the reader light all the way up and saw no sign of light bleed. It is hard to tell how much your corners are affected because your picture is so overexposed. |

Unfortunately I don't think it's light bleed as you can see in the attached picture it's there when the light is off on the screensaver. It's just not as easy to see / photograph without the light on.
I'm 90% sure it wasn't there yesterday. Just hoping it's not water damaged as I do use it in the bath occasionally. |

I still think camera bloom exaggerates the problem in you first picture. I think a picture in inverted mode in bright ambient light with the Kindle light off would give the best view of the e-ink portion of the problem. (Outdoors would be best.) Glare from a camera flash or other light source would confuse things. |

The first pic is front light all the way up, no flash, taken outside.
The second is front light all the way down. |

I don't see anything like that on mine, with or without the front light.

I don't recall ever seeing that kind of failure before, most examples on this forum are from some kind of stress or impact failure. My KOA2 hasn't behaved like yours and it seems so far that no one else's has either. It's probably time to contact Amazon for a warranty replacement. |

So if the backlight is off, its not light bleed. But what is it then. Missing ink bubble thingies that stay on white?
How the heck do you even explain that to the kindle CS. |
