Dark Rain - #1 in fantasy adventure series -- FREE
There’s something very strange about Raine’s Landing, Massachusetts. In the first place, there’s a problem getting in there … voices start up in your head, warning you to stay away. And then there’s that creepy looking mansion at the summit of the biggest hill, weird creatures roaming through its grounds. Not to mention the fact that the town’s buses operate without a sign of any driver. And that’s when you begin suspecting there might be some otherworldly force at work … like witchcraft, perhaps.
Now Raine’s Landing has a brand-new visitor who’s not intimidated by that kind of power. He’s an ancient demon who has adopted human form. He loves to control people’s lives, and feeds on their fear. And when he starts his deadly games, not even the town’s adepts – magicians descended from the genuine witches of Salem – can stop him. So the job is left to ex-cop Ross Devries and his Harley-riding sidekick Cassie Mallory. They don’t have any magical skills, just their guns and fists and their sharp wits. But will those be enough? "An innovative, compelling novel of dark fantasy. I recommend it" – News from the Crypt. "It will keep you on the edge of your seat. A definite must read for those into dark fantasy, paranormal fiction, or just a good book" – SF Revu. "The narrative is never less than compelling as it hurtles towards a resolution. All that remains is to wait patiently for the sequel and find out what else Richards has in store for us" – Black Static Magazine. Read the Amazon Reviews. Dark Rain US Dark Rain UK NOTE: This is the first time that DARK RAIN has been available in e-book format outside North America. Last edited by Tony Richards; 05-09-2024 at 01:40 PM. |

When it first came out, 6 years back, Dark Rain garnered a whole load of good reviews and some very faithful followers of the series.

And the series hasn't even finished yet. Far from it.

It's no longer free, but MUCH cheaper than the Harpers edition was.

Just back from a really good one-week vacation, having had my original one scuppered by the French air-traffic control strike. There's more book news to come, and I'll be featuring it on my blog -- http://raineslanding.blogspot.com -- very soon.

This novel has had great reviews, on Amazon and elsewhere. Why not give them a look?

And the 99c sale of my self-published fiction continues into September. There won't be another chance for quite a while.

I picked up 4 of the 5. Why the change in titles in # 2 &3 Tony? I mean the other 3 all mention "Raine's Landing dark fantasy adventure" as part of the header, but not 2 &3.

Book #2 was published by Eos/HarperCollins and they still have the rights.
Book #3 was published by Dark Regions Press and their rights have almost expired, but I want to get back control of Book #2 first and then produce a boxset including 2 & 3. Book #1 was also published by Eos, but I got the rights back earlier this year and produced by own e-book version. Books #4 & 5 were published by myself directly as e-books. Complicated, huh? The more that you get published, the more you leave this spider's web of rights, contracts, and expiry dates in your wake. |
