ROOT Likebook Ares K78 Android 8.1 by Magisk (Should works on all Rockchip devices)
This method is summarized from github magisk/issues/755 ,I have successfully attempted on Likebook Ares Android 8.1, thank you all.
Download all the file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jEe...usp=drive_link ---------------------- 1. Patch Ares K78 boot.img by use Windows Android.Image.Kitchen Tool and Magisk PS: You can also use Linux or Android AIK version, download from here: https://xdaforums.com/t/tool-android...ux-mac.2073775 If you are also on Likebook Ares K78 V3.1.1 Android 8.1, you can directly use the boot_patched.img I have made(Ares_K78_MagiskPatch_V3.1.1-2021081711_Android8.1_boot.img), no need to do the following steps a-i. a. Extract "Android.Image.Kitchen.v3.8-Win32.zip" and install "jre-8u271-windows-x64.exe" inside. b. Move boot.img from folder "Generic AOSP" to the root directory of folder "Android Image Kitchen" (place it together with unpackimg.bat and repackimg.bat),Double click unpackimg.bat to unpack boot.img, now we got folder ramdisk and split_img. Move Split_img to folder "G", delete the remaining folder ramdisk and boot.img. c. Like the previous step, unpack the Factory boot.img from folder "Boot from RK3368 Ares K78" (I have provided it inside,You can also got it from K78 V3.1.1-2021081711 update.zip),move folder ramdisk and split_img to folder "R",delete the remaining boot.img. d. Move R's ramdisk folder from "R" to "G". e. Move the folder ramdisk and split_img from G to the root directory of folder "Android Image Kitchen ",double click repackimg.bat to repack the contents, move the generated "image-new.img" to any device with the Magisk Manager installed. Then use Magisk Manager to patch this image. Let's name the generated new image "image-new_patched.img". f. Go back to the root directory of folder "Android Image Kitchen" on PC, double-click cleanup.bat to clean up and delete the remaining "*.img" file. g. Copy "image-new_patched.img" to the root directory of folder "Android Image Kitchen",Unpack "image-new_patched.img". Move the generated folder ramdisk and split_img to "P". h. Move the folder ramdisk from "P" to "R", Open "boot.img-imgtype" file in folder "R / split_img" with a txt editor, change the text"AOSP" to "KRNL" , and save. i. Repack the ramdisk and split_img from folder "R". Now we have generated the final "image-new.img" file, although it is so small, only 1991kb, but it can works fine. ---------------------- 2. Flash the final generated "image-new.img" file (Please backup important data first just in case) a. Run "DriverInstall.exe” to install the drivers(RK_Driver_Assistant_4.5_bernado_mod / DriverInstall.exe) b. Run "AndroidTool.exe" from RK_Android_Tool_2.3.9_bernado_mod,to check the device status. c. Go to the Bootloader mode on Likebook Ares K78: c1.Turn off the E-reader completely. c2. Hold reset button whick on the left side of type-C charging port,at the same time, connect Ares K78 to the computer until the Android_Tool.exe program interface below displays "Found One LOADER Device",now you can release the Reset button. c3. Right click on the program window area on the left, and Click "Load Config", Select and import "config_16-Ares-K78.cfg" from the folder "RK_Android_Tool_2.3.9_bernado_mod". c4. Now remove unnecessary checkmarks, Only keep "boot". Copy and paste the path of final generated "image-new.img" file into the Path text box of boot to replace default "lmage\boot.img". d. Click "Download" button, once flash completed, the E-reader should auto reboot. ALL done! e. If the device system broken after flash this patched boot.img, you can flash back to the official Factory boot.img to fix it. (Ares K78 Android 8.1 can use Ares K78_Origin. V3.1.1-2021081711 Android 8.1-boot. img in "RK_Android_Tool_2.3.9_bernado_mod" folder). f. This Root method Should works on all Rockchip devices but Details and files could be different depending on the model. |
