True, but not everyone know that. So john's question made sence.

No problems here...
The only new thing I notice, there is a new menu setting that allows the Frontlight to remember the light status when you turn it off and on again. |

Did you do the update via wi-fi ?
I've been trying to revive the cybook, no luck so far. |

No, I always do it manually. My advice is to search for errors on the Bookeen. Of course that should happen before the update when the device was still alive...
Others (on a German forum) did it succesfully via WLAN though. Update took all in all not longer then 15 minutes, I think everything taking longer is not normal. |

So there still might be an issue with firmware and bricked device? I think I'll wait for a while then.

For the HD FrontLight model: Up to 9 weeks with FrontLight off, up to 8 weeks with FrontLight on. Note: Battery life depends on usage, user settings and many other factors. New features & improvements “PDF Reflow” option. Option to memorize FrontLight state in sleep mode (HD FrontLight only). Improved hyphenation rules (ePub, Txt, Html, Fb2). Faster USB connectivity. Just updated via wifi, no problems. Let's just hope that the no page turn - double page turn bug has been resolved.

The Sony T1 was discontinued yet Sony updated the firmware. Firmware updates do happen for older models. Not as often, but they do. Some may find it annoying to go to the site, log in or register and then find out their device was not the one with the firmware update. |
