Has anyone got a .site file for the Washington Post? Or any PDA friendly URLs for it?
Thanks, Geoffrey |

Alas, that no longer works. It takes one to a static page--the key links at the top all result in displaying the same web page!
Any other leads? |

Hi there,
I've made WP site files which work quite well, but the trick is that you have to use the import cookies command of sitescooper, which requires you to get an oldish version of Netscape (owing to when Sitescooper was developed). Once you've done that, try using the site files below. I think that if you've got the NYT and WP working on your Palm, you've got the best content you can get. They're the trickiest ones to get working for the Palm though, as they provide limited or non existent PDA versions. Try the Christian Science Monitor's PDA version for some excellent (secular!) content - excellent world news coverage. http://www.csmonitor.com/cgi-bin/red...pl?textEdition Good luck and let me know how you get on! Regards, Geoffrey Code:

Ooops! Posted this to wrong forum area!
Geoffrey,
Thanks much for your detailed reply and the web links. I'm not using sitescooper but rather iSiloX to pluck my web pages. (When I posted my query, I had searched for washington post and didn't realize I had ended up in another part of the MR forums) I'll see what I can do in translating site-scooper speak into iSilo semantics. NY Times I have working okay, though there's lots to scroll down through. Christian Science Monitor is an excellent newspaper. They confine the religion to one interior page of the paper, and it's actually reflective and thought-provoking. They are internationally reknown for excellent reporting, coverage, and analysis. BBC News is another good news source. Best! |

No problem. I don't know much about Isilo, but hopefully you can make something of the sitescooper .site files. I would recommend using sitescooper - it's old and difficult to set up in my experience, but it does an excellent job. I spent much of my last summer (one year ago - I'm in the Southern Hemisphere) setting it up and writing site files and I've had excellent content to my Palm ever since, just by pushing a couple of buttons every day. The annoying thing is when WP/NYT/whatever decides to redesign its site (grrr!). But maybe Isilo can do the same thing equally well, I've just never investigated it.
Again, good luck and Merry Christmas Geoffrey |

Where down under are you?
I lived in Peru for several years, so I know first-hand the reversal of the seasons...
Again, appreciate your help! Alexander (board moderator) did provide an updated W. Post link in another part of the forums. |

Sorry for the belated reply - I've been on holiday.
To answer your question, I'm in Dunedin, New Zealand. Happy New Year! |
