New Contrast Scheme Hard to Read
Somewhere in the last version or two a couple of subtle changes to the UI made it much harder for me to read during my daily sessions.
I notice it most when I am editing metadata via lookup and I am presented with a list of alternatives--the listing is light gray and white and is difficult to read. I have a very high resolution monitor hanging off the wall about 4 inches from my eyeballs. I also notice that the progress bars have become ultra-thin to the point that can't always actually see the bar moving. Not sure if this was an update or just me fat fingering one of the thousand settings. Any way to get back to the old default scheme? |

Make sure Preferences->Look & feel -> User interface style is set to calibre style. calibre style does not have ultra thin scrollbars.

That Was It
For some reason it was set to something called "system default" which apparently is different than "Calibre," which is my familiar interface style.
No idea how it got set since it is extremely rare for me to enter the Preferences menu. |

I have had the same issue, the style has changed with the update (I haven't changed it as I have had problems to find the option).

There was also another post on the forum with someone apparently also unexpectedly switched. I wonder what the common denominator between them is.

So you did.
However, I find hairlines under 10pt Arial hard to see at the best of times, and in some cases impossible. Which is why I usually make the links I post bleedin' obvious See image in attached zip - as we know MR distorts images. BR Last edited by BetterRed; 08-29-2024 at 07:57 PM. |
