Graphic Converter (OSX) for PDF/Image conversion

The author of graphicconverter has added the ability to split multipage PDFs into multiple image files.

So, on OSX, use PDFlabs to combine/split/reorder pdf pages, and then you can run them through graphicconverter to make them images that fit the .77 aspect ratio of the e-reader.

This is *really* nice for reading newspapers/multicolumn stuff and is close to being a Rastafarian/JAP solution for OSX.

Still doesn't take care of DRM'ed pdfs.

Oh, and with the new version of Biblioskop, you can actually load your PRS500 without windows. Biblioskop doesn't read the memory card if you have it *in* the prs-500, but if you stick it in a memory card reader, it works fine.

OSX is slowly coming along with a few solutions......

I used it this morning to convert the santa fe new mexican newspaper, and I figure it should work fine with the NYT & WaPo online offerings.

Can you tell me how to change the aspect ratio Graphic Converter 5.9.6 beta? I found something that looked similar under Save As and then clicking Split, but it then asks for the size in pixels.

You can change the aspect ratio using the Picture | Size | Scale command.

To automate it you might want to try using batch or applescript. You might be able to find an aspect ratio automator action.

Personally, I just use the option available in the *Save A Copy As* | Split | Number of Parts. Its important to use the "save a copy as" function or else the original will not only get written over, it'll be pretty much junked. (I haven't had a chance to report that bug yet).
