I'm happy as the proverbial clam with my iPad. Don't use it for reading ebooks, though. It's my truly portable recreational (as opposed to work) computer. I read newspapers, magazines (though it's odd how so many magazines haven't figured out the iPad yet) RSS feeds, watch some Netflix, surf the net &c.
The main reason not to buy an iPad is the cost. Nice device. |

I'm happy too, but mine in fact is my dedicated e-book reader. I thought of getting a Kindle but my reading style is read; look something up; go back to reading etc. So having a device that does both in one, runs my iPhone apps and all is divine. It's a beautiful device. I just got mine a few weeks ago. Held off all this time, and now enjoying it. Does all I need, and I use it every day as well as just for quick note writing at work too. Standby mode for instant on is so handy and battery life is great for such a colorful multiple use tablet.

You mean this?
https://h30406.www3.hp.com/campaigns...PSL/index.php? http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en...0-4332585.html HP is going after business with it now, but it's basically the same thing Ballmer showed at CES. They're taking orders for it now and I didn't know the damn thing still existed (was waiting on a WebOS-based version). |

I bought my Sony PRS-505 more than 3 years ago. It's an ereader and that is all I use it for and that is all I want. I can download from the library, mobileread, gutenberg as well as numerous online ebookstores. Wireless is nice but is plugging in the USB such a chore? I have looked at other devices recently and except for the Sony daily edition (7" screen) still find no reason to change. As for Kindle, I don't get why reviewers slobber over it. It doesn't support EPUB and I don't think I can download PDF DRM to it from the library. But it gets all the attention. IPAD is very nice if you want your e-reader to be a netbook sans keyboard and do everything else. I just want my ereader to be an ereader. And, I can stick it in my coat pocket. Try that with Kindle or IPAD!
