Wow! That is a nice looking cover. Maybe my Oasis needs a new cover too. Apparently I open it at the same place because I have a wear spot at the edge and a thread is coming loose. Thanks for the link.

Yes, thanks. I may pick one of these up. My cover, an aftermarket one, does not do a good job of putting the Oasis to sleep or waking up with the cover.

Since the Oasis 2 and Oasis 3 have their magnets in different places, I wonder why the product page says these covers work with both.

Please don't hate me, but I have to ask what is so great about the Oasis? I bought the Oasis 2 and returned it because I found it too hard to hold comfortably. That more than likely was because I am left-handed and it was very hard to handle with the cover on, and just didn't feel right without a cover. And I didn't care for the page buttons either. I also had the Voyage until it died and I loved it but I also disabled the page buttons. I love the newest PW for its larger screen for most of my reading, but I also have the Basic Kindle for when I am out and about for appointments and having time to read. The Basic Kindle fits nicely in my vest pockets and isn't even noticeable as it is so light. And no I don't read on anything but e-ink devices or real books. Over my IT professional years I basically destroyed my eyes and can't stand the glare phone screens or tablet screens. So I minimize the time I spend using them

If you don't care about turn buttons and don't like the form factor of the Oasis, then the screen size being 7" isn't much draw vs the price difference to the latest PW, and it does make more sense for you to be drawn to that instead.

I assume so, but then wondor is the extraneous magnets have adverse affects on either model. In any case, the added weight is troubling.

If it truly reliably wakes an sleeps both models and it isn't prone to misaligning either model, then I'm sold. (Also assuming it is actually durable. I bought a touted 2rd party cover a few years ago and it started deteriorating after a couple of weeks of light use. The official Oasis 2 cover is holding up well, but when not perfectly aligned, it not only doesn't put the Oasis 2 to sleep, it keeps it on and runs the battery down.)

The thing that is so great about the Oasis IS the page turn buttons. The only e-ink device I have ever owned without buttons is the PW4. I hated it. I won't buy another device without buttons. I am also left handed for whatever that is worth. I actually seem to change hands frequently when I read. I will admit that it is a little annoying to have to rotate the reader around every time I change hands. If Amazon doesn't come out with a reader with buttons, I won't be buying another Kindle.

I currently have an Oasis and a Nook Glowlight 4 Plus. The Nook has page turn buttons on both sides and is currently my preferred reader. I have never had a Kobo but I am not opposed to owning one in the future. All my books are backed up in Calibre so I can use any device I want.

(Edit): I realize that page turn buttons are not important to everyone. Probably not important to most people, but to those that prefer them, I'm glad they haven't been abandoned by all companies.

I really like the page turn buttons. I also like how you can hold it without accidentally tapping the screen. I tried the early version of the Paperwhite and other Kindle's, and the only ones I felt satisfied using without buttons were those that had a non-flush bezel. So I could kind of roll my thumb over to turn the page.

I really like the Oasis screen and I hear the latest version of the Paperwhite is pretty good too.

I’m anti-Popsocket too. I’m team Strapsicle when I have to hold it. But I hold it as little as possible. I only hold it while reading outside on the porch.

I like the page turn buttons too, the material the Oasis 3 is made of and the design, which is very comfortable to hold the Oasis in my hand, better than the PocketBook Era. Additional I like the flush screen.
The screen has no greyish edges and no other things, like shadows on the left or right sides. The screen is perfect.

I can confirm the Paperwhite 5 is good too. I have them both.

The Oasis 3 is my favorite reader out of all.
