Kaz,
My condolences. Loosing a family member is always devastating. It is even worse when it is totally out of the blue with no warning. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your kin. BOb |

I wanted to thank everyone for the kind words. If you haven't guessed it yet, this was my first experience with the death of someone very close to me. What made it especially hard was that her death was completely unexpected. Because my extended family is scattered across the country and with the vagaries of life, we get together infrequently. However, Vikki and I spoke regularly (and at great length) on the phone. As we were the same age (her birthday is 2 weeks after mine), we were always comparing notes about our kids, our lives, etc. She loved to hear my Ryleigh stories and I just loved to listen to her talk. She had a sweet voice like Minnie Mouse on helium.
The whole funeral experience was quite surreal for me. We road to the church in huge stretch limousines with a police escort where they actually stopped traffic on the expressways. When we arrived at the church, there was a media contingent waiting to take pictures of the attendees and a section for media in the church (thankfully the priest asked them to leave before mass began). After the service, we had another police escort, with bus loads of professional football players included, to Paul Brown stadium where the Bengals held a reception. It was all lovely, but very sad. Vikki would have been embarrassed by all the attention but would have loved the sentiment. Anyway, I thought I would share another article that was written about her. I met the columnist who was thrilled to know that I had read his articles and even shared them here. Thanks for letting me share again. I can't begin to tell you what your support has meant to me. Hugs to all. Kaz |

What terribly sad news, Kaz. I'm so sorry to learn about your sister-in-law's death. Those articles were so touching. I'm sorry this is so belated, but my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Kaz,
What a beautiful article about your sister-in-law. She was loved by the many she loved in turn. |

Just wanted to say I was thinking of those who are hurting right now. I just lost my Mom unexpectedly and know the pain others are feeling too. I know it will get better but I miss her so much right now.
