I've raised the issue with the publisher. Hopefully they'll get the book up soon. I feel really, really bad about this for the reader. |

Just finished book 5 (sat at my desk this morning to finish before logging in). Loved this series! Thanks for sharing it with us Hugh!

Thanks Hugh. No need to feel bad about it. This sort of problem will be sorted out as the established publishers get used to this type of situation. Sorry to subject everyone to my rant about the large publishers in this thread.

Finished Wool last night. I've got to say, its one of the best things I"ve read. I'm generally not a huge sci-fi fan, but that was an amazing read.

You are welcome. I'll start the prequel soon.
BTW, I responded on your site about the Blind Mellon Band you heard in Charlotte. That club sounds an awful lot like the Double Door, which is pretty famous around Charlotte for its draw of bands for such a small club. Two small rooms... Small stage. Sounds like the same place. Great place. Been there many a time. |

Been a little quiet here of late.
Anyone know when First Shift will be available again? Amazon nor Kobo have it. Being in Australia I am kind of limited in ebook stores i can access. |

I'm a little over half way through. I now understand why the book was optioned as a movie. One of the better dystopias, plus a mystery, plus an adventure, plus an interesting heroine- not a PYH type either. I would like to see the movie!

I don't know, but did speculate in my rant above that it could be some time. Hugh Howey did indicate on this thread that he was taking the matter up with his publishers. Perhaps you can get an update by contacting Hugh on his site.

I'm at the stage now-two-thirds in-when I think we start talking about the name for the movie (I don't think"Wool" is going to cut it) and what the casting choices will be. Any suggestions on who should play the heroine?

As for the heroine, I can't think of a specific actress.. But I would like to see Jeff Bridges as Solo! |

I'm reading the omnibus now and have a hard time putting the book down so I can get things done (like go to work ). Bravo, Mr. Howey!
I just now bought First Shift -- Legacy from B&N and put all of his other books on my wish list. Thanks to the OP for starting this thread! The title made me curious, and now I have a new author on my favorites list! |
