Thanks orlok.
I went to a quiz last night, so here's a few of the questions from that that I can remember; 1. When eating 'bean sprouts' in a Chinese meal, what plant are these from? 2. In which British quiz show would you have heard the phrase, "Question or nominate?"? (with apologies to the non-Brits out there) 3. Which British singer released the album "Black Tie, White Noise" in 1993? 4. Which planet features a great red spot? 5. Who wrote "The Owl and the Pussycat"? 6. What useful household appliance did Charles Strite invent in 1919? 7. What was the name of the 1970 Disney film starring Phil Silvers and Stephanie Powers? 8. Which battle took place 19 days after the Battle of Stamford Bridge? 9. What was the title of the first book of the Millennium trilogy? 10. What is the 3rd longest river in Scotland and the 9th longest in the UK? |

9 The first book was actually Män som hatar kvinnor or Men that hate women, but the foreign publishers didn't think that would go over well with the public.

So, the scores on the doors are; Hamlet53 - 3 pdurrant - 1 Stitchawl - 1 orlok - 3 Kumabjorn - 1 Just 6 and 7 left to get. Number 6 is a smaller appliance than the guesses given so far. Number 7 had the tagline, "Man the laffboats!". |

No. Bigger than a shoehorn.
No, bigger than a tin opener. Not "The Love Boat", although that was my (incorrect) guess last night as well. The answer to No. 6 is bigger than a shoehorn or a tin opener, but smaller than a fridge or a vacuum cleaner. It is food related. The answer to No.7 is two words long (but the first one is "The"), punny, and suggests that the people in their waterborne vessels may be into peace and love! |
