It's spooky outside this morning. Unnaturally warm ... gusty ... sprinkles of rain ... we're under a severe thunderstorm/tornado watch - unfortunately the really rough stuff is supposed to arrive here around midnight - night storms are so deadly!

Surprise tornado warning going on. We weren't even under a watch. (That changed quickly). The warning is until 9:00 a.m. I'm ready to jump in the closet if I need to, but it looks like the storm is passing north of me. Gonna be a long day...

Stay safe Betty, Poohbear and astrangerhere.
We broke the record high for this day at around 7 am. The old record was 8.3C. The expected high is around 13C with thunderstorms. Then dropping back down to -10C by Friday. |

I don't know if we are flirting with a record, but it is 23C/73F and it is muggy enough to feel like July. Still waiting on the rain, but the clouds are delightfully dark and ominous. Now if only I were home in my easy chair with my Nook...

It's quiet out there. Too quiet.
It's fairly warm, it's still damp from yesterday's rain, and the radar on my favorite weather site shows bands of heavy rain inching towards us. EDIT: And here's the first wind. Last edited by cromag; 01-30-2013 at 03:06 PM. |

Still hideously too warm here. Winds picking up. Going home to tie stuff down in the yard & on the deck.

Wow, it's been a scary day here in Georgia:
http://www.ajc.com/news/news/local/t...georgia/nT9xH/ This line of storms stayed north of me, and now the line has crossed over me and is to the south, still full of tornado watches and warnings. And maybe it was the barometric pressure, but my niece's water just broke (a few weeks early!) and she's headed to the hospital. I think she's good to go, so hopefully we'll have a healthy baby by morning! |

Stay safe everyone and Betty let us know how your niece is doing and if you have a new little girl or boy in the family.
We had a warm day today (62F) and to be not too cold tonight (36F). |

The high for yesterday was 13.9C shattering the old record of 8.2C.
Today the temperature is dropping. Currently 0C with winds out of the west at 55km/h. But the sun is shining. |

Rain slapping against the windows last night! Nearby areas got wind gusts of almost 70 mph.
Not raining anymore, but still very windy! The last of the clouds are racing across the sky! The latch on the storm door was broken during Sandy (and the frame was bent). I've been waiting for better weather to replace it. Right now it's creaking open and closed in the wind. |

Dry cold and a bit windy - otherwise a 'normal' Scottish Summer

Last week we had -15 C, with a harsh wind and lots of snow. It was very cold on my bike. But this week we have +10 C with rain and I feel out of sorts by it.

We survived the storms/winds last night - cats were definitely upset by all the noise.
Today - cooler, seasonal temps with gusty winds. Back to winter again. |
