Hmm, that’s interesting then. NickelMenu was supposed to stay up after an update…

Ah, thanks!
I (think) I finally got it. “NickelMenu” is just a drop-down (drop up? Lol) and that entry in there is kfmon shortcut. What I need is another script above that was originally commented out. Got it! Thank you! I’ll try ![]() |

Thanks everyone!
I uncommented line .adds/nm/koreader and commented out the line in ./add/nm/kfmon, otherwise I had both of them there and I didn't know which one is which. |

Hi everyone. I installed Koreader using the one click installer (powershell), how would I go about adding Plato?

I would suggest installing Plato using the Plato installer in message #1 and the script in message #2. This will install Plato 0.9.42 which should work with a Clara BW.

hey guys. i just bought a Kobo Clara Colour for my girlfriend and stuck with the process. first i updated the firmware then did a reset. then i tried to install manually the OCP-Plato-0.9.42_KOReader-v2024.04.zip package on Ubuntu 24.04. however the NickelMenu appeared but the apps won't load. then i tried the scripted method. same happened. everytime i opened the apps both started to load (dot animation appeared) then after about 10-15 secs retired to the home screen. may i missed some steps?

The script will work for Koreader, but you should manually update using the nightly after installing it on the Clara Colour or BW, from here: https://build.koreader.rocks/download/nightly/
Just extract and replace the existing folder of the sam name. |

I have a Kobo Glo N613, I just replaced the Battery.
It also had a corrupted SD card ( I think ) so I replaced it with a new one and installed a disc image with my PC laptop. Rebooting got me to the message to connect to my PC and hence to the Kobo Desktop.. The reader was updated and then ceased to function. Could not see it in Windows at all. A factory reset was required so that I could see the files again. Tried this a couple of times with the same result. Decided that I didn't need Kobo Desktop anyway so decide to install another reader. Went through the one click process and installed the packages. These installed and I could see them in File Manager. However the reader just rebooted to the opening screen and asked to connect to the Kobo Desktop!! My question is, would the factory reset be the problem and do I have to reinstall the disc image and start again or have I done something else wrong. Thanks |
