@Tukan: Not a mistake, and knc1 isn't mistaken either.
The HW & SW combination issue is specific to the new non-JP 4GB PW2, where *every* Kindlet is broken until FW 5.4.5. But since CM does NOT support FW 5.4.5, that doesn't help here, unlike for KUAL, where a simple update to 5.4.5 does the trick on those HW variants. EDIT: @eschwartz: Yup, good idea. |

I'm on a PW1, running 5.3.9. I have successfully imported my Collections from Calibre and Kindle Collections. However, when I try to view the contents of my library, if I view by Title or by Recent, no books are listed. I can only see my books if I view by Collection or by Author.
Is there something I did wrong? |

@fogice: Hidden your books from the Homescreen in CM? Broken metadata? Wrong date/time?
Was your device downgraded from FW 5.4? |

No, I've only used CM to import the collection data.

@fogice: Definitely. The DB format changed, and a downgrade is *not* handled cleanly.
If you have shell access, kill the framework & clear the db (stop lab126_gui && sleep 2 && rm /var/local/cc.db && start lab126_gui). Barring that, a factory reset will clear it, with everything else ;D. |

Thanks. I don't understand shell access yet, so.... time to research!
So, do I enter each of those commands as entered, hitting ENTER when I see a && ? Or do I enter the &&s as well? All as one line? Will the database be recreated once I do those steps, or will that clear all the information and I'll have to reload the files? Anything is OK, just want to know. |

The database should be recreated and loaded automatically. |

The catalog will be rebuilt automatically after the framework starts, yes, but without collections at all, I should note. It might also make the indexer twitchy and reindex everything, I'm not sure [I cleared the indexer db at the same time the last time I did this, so...

That appeared to work, at first. However, everything under "Recent" and "Title" seems to vanish again after a bit of use. I've run the command with the &&s twice, with the same problem happening both times.
Also, I can't figure out how to turn the shell access off, so I can't see my Kindle as a USB device or in Calibre anymore. |

Double-check that the date & time is accurate.
(As for USBNet, what eschwartz said . Or do the same thing you did to enable it (which i'm assuming was typing ;un in the searchbar)). |

Perhaps just install the "Set DateTime" button for KUAL?

The time can be set from the Settings Menu > Device Info, while the date can be set through the searchbar (;setdate epoch), where expoch is the date/time in unix epoch format (date +%s).
(I might be dreaming the ;setdate searchbar command, but on the shell, setdate does work like that (and there's settz to fake a timezone, too)). As for checking the date, besides checking the timestamps of stuff the framework dumps in the userstore, without a shell access, nope. |
