Xournal for the Ver 1.7.1 has merged scribbles with PDF files without a hitch until I tried to merge scribbles into a pdf file created with acrobat ver 9. It seems to import annotations just fine, but when I try to merge them annotations, the program aborts to the file listing. It creates the merge file before it aborts. I am not in a position to try the V2.0 firmware with its Adobe reader, because I need Xournal and the DJVU plugin, and I can't downgrade the Acrobat version. Have you heard of this problem?

I send you a PM, can you send me an example of a pdf file created with Acrobat 9?
There are some people around that have detailed acrobat knowledge, does anyone already have an idea what could be the problem?

As we all know, acrobat's PDF writer can produce files compatible with various versions of the Acrobat reader. I solved the incompatibility problem between Xournal and Ver 9 PDF files by forcing the pdf writer to create PDF/A files (thus, being readable by acrobat reader ver 5). There are other PDF slash designations, I haven't tried, but I know I can merge annotations on PDF/A files with Xournal.

Edit: PDF/A is an archive mode, recommended for long-term storage. Should be a dependable format
