I have about 2.5 hours left to listen to Gideon the Ninth and then the challenge is done.

I finished my November prompt - Black Marks on the White Page an anthology of short writing by indigenous authors from Pasifika with a couple of pieces by indigenous Australian authors too. Collated by Witi Ihimaera and Tina Makereti, Ihimaera's own contributions were my favourite. Overall, an experience more worthwhile than enjoyable.

I have 3 left on mine. I know for sure I will get at least one more done, but the other two are pretty long so kindof iffy. I enjoy the challenge and only used books from my TBR.

I am envious. My downfall was getting overly ambitious and filling some months with three or even four selections.

The challenge definately got me to read books that I've had in my Calibre library for quite a while, even if it didn't get me to buy less books.

I enjoyed the challenge. I look forward to the 2024 challenge.

I did the same, but I decided to accept the "Prompt complete!" after finishing one of the selections in a given month. And then did some judicious rearranging where I'd finished more than one of the choices in a prompt.

That said, I think I'm within both the spirit and the letter of the challenge just the same. I'll have finished all twelve prompts with apropos books and I'll have knocked 12 books off my TBR. Isn't that the point?

I'm going to gut it out, because I do want to read all the books I added. Without this challenege, I may never have gotten around to finally reading Moby Dick or The Monkey Wrench Gang or my book for December, Waterland.

For certain. By the end of the year, I'll have read 27 books that I have owned unread for a year+ and I feel pretty good about that.

That's great! Thanks very much astrangerhere, for having the idea and running it for us. It has certainly got me onto some of my unread books.
