Pocketbook eh? It seems a good app. Installed on ny nexus-6 is ok but if i try to install on my t68, GPlay says it's non compatible with my software version.
Current pocketbook version is (according with Gplay): 2.01 What version have you, Brando? HP |

I like pocketbook because it maintains the original layout, format and font of the ebook i'm reading and it's what i want. I was not able to do the same with Alreader nor with Moon+ reader (i have the paid version). I'm also thinking to buy a pocketbook device to replace my T68... but I don't like them aesthetically... regards |

I have:
M96 & M96+ Kit Kat from: 2015-11-29 & 2017-05-02: M96_KK_2015-11-29_19-41_dev_6b96172_eng.zip M96_KK_2017-05-02_19-37_dev_fbc2cc2_user.zip M96 & M96+ Ice Cream Sandwich from: 2014-09-30 & 2015-11-12: M96_2014-09-30_21-42_1.6.4_7efa90c_user.7z M96_ICS_2015-11-12_01-52_dev_ac7be75_user.zip T68+ (maybe T68 too) Kit Kat from: 2015-11-10 & 2017-05-02: T68_KK_2017-05-02_20-53_dev_fbc2cc2_user.zip T68_kk_2015-11-10_01-00_dev_4712b06_eng.zip T68+ (maybe T68 too) Ice Cream Sandwich from 2017-05-03: T68_ICS_2017-05-03_05-49_1.8.2_e54efe5_user_1.8.2.zip T68_ics2015-11-11_00-14_dev_ac7be75_user.zip These are the Mfgtool2 zip files from the old ereader store (Booxter's). The names were changed because they used to be more generic and I couldn't tell which was KK & which was ICS. Or maybe it was M96 & T68 I added. Or both. I forget. The M96 7zip file also has an update.zip in it. Not sure if it came that way or I did it myself. Personally I've been using the older KK image without much issue, but I don't use the Onyx apps. I believe some problems were reported with the newer ones for some people so I never bothered to 'upgrade' mine. These are mega links, but I've never tried sharing via Mega before, so I have no idea if I've done it right. Let me know. Last edited by bsnick; 07-21-2018 at 08:10 PM. |

M96 OS + Firm
So jumping through pages of various Boox forums I realized there is more than just downloading the: M96_KK_2017-05-02_19-37_dev_fbc2cc2_user.zip and renaming it to update.zip, there's also this firmware update of 1.8.2 for the M96 and a Booxter version of the OS. Besides the firmware, i came across issues with 4.4 Beta with bluetooth and other stuff.
The first post of this sticky says move update.zip to root and install in About. It appears to be more than just renaming the zip file posted above. Something with a CFGtool? vv Main Question VV I'm trying to get on the most updated knowledge on all this info now and general guide / how-to for what I should do first to get M96 updated to work with playstore and newer apps that probably target 4.1 android and above. Could someone please explain some steps and the firmware / OS configuration that works best? I haven't touched it for 3 years so I've been in the dark with updates and all this info. Thanks! Type - M96C Plus | Build - 2015-09-02_14-51_1.7.3_14d2cbe | OS - 4.0.1 |

As I recall M96C has its own files because of the touchscreen. I don't think the M96/M96+ ones will work.
There were two types of updates: -update.zip, which as I recall are flashed from within the rom and just update files here and there -mfgtool firmwares, which overwrite previous installations (or at least the system partition). These are flashed from windows with the cable plugged in. For the mfgtool firmwares you have your computer turned on, cable plugged in, double-click the exe file (unzip the file first, of course). With your device turned off you hold down some key combination (pgdown + power?) for a few seconds. The light turns on and changes to something like blinking purple). This is a sort of download mode, and at this point if you plug the usb cord in the mfgtool should see the device, although as I recall it doesn't give you the best indication that it's seeing it (no sounds, flashing lights, more like 'drive z:' shows, or something. Windows 8 - 10 might need to started in non-signed driver mode if you have troubles. I've used the 2015 KitKat on 3 devices without problems, but I seem to have been one of the fortunate few. Maybe the fact I don't use the Onyx apps was why, or maybe it's because I don't make regular use of them. |

Hi
I want to download and flash T68_KK_2017-05-02_20-53_dev_fbc2cc2_user.zip but zip is corrupted. Can you reupload it ? It will be the best if you can pack it with rar + recovery data . Last edited by Fiillu; 09-09-2018 at 06:41 PM. Reason: adding text |

Sorry, I have the Max2 (kind of regretting it as I never use it) so I have nothing for the earlier Max.
@Fiillu: sorry I didn't respond. I checked the uploaded version against what I have on my computer. I'm afraid the size and md5sum match and I have no problems exploring or unzipping it. I haven't tried flashing it as the previous KK version was working fine for me and I wasn't using the Boox apps anyway. The zips came direct from Booxter's previous website, so other than the 7zip file (which I assume I did) they're in the 'original packaging' as it were. |
