There's a 7 chapter free sample available at Amazon, and possibly elsewhere. Note that this is different than Amazon's "Send Sample Now" option, which for this title only sends the first 4 chapters. I usually forget to check for longer samples.

Also, according to the Tor website, Ender’s Shadow, Mistborn, and The Emperor’s Blades are on sale at Google through 9/28, so I'd guess that they should be on sale everywhere until then.

I posted about the sale in a separate thread, but it's good to have it mentioned here as well. However, the discounts aren't available at Amazon, B&N, and Kobo at the moment, and probably won't be: they're only for purchases via Gumroad, the platform Subterranean is using for direct e-book sales. I don't honestly know whether Amazon et al. would price-match a smallish service like Gumroad.

... and I believe Subterranean Press has US rights only, so if you're not in the US you're stuck with the higher priced outlets.

I have no idea if a brief vacation to the US would be possible for purposes of purchasing at Gumroad.

This is a great book, one that includes three novels.

HIGHLY recommended.

I've always enjoyed Robert Silverberg's writing, especially during his 'growth' period in the late 60s and early 70s.

Slightly OT: I own 10 or so original typescripts (NOT carbon copes!) of stories that he published during the late 1950s, two or three of them written under a pseudonym. They're currently in a climate controlled storage in the U.S along with the rest of my book collection, which is why I can't remember the exact number of typescripts that I own by him.

He doesn't get the recognition that is his due, in my opinion.

His Majipoor series of titles make for some wonderful reading.
