I have to admit that the title of Chapter 14 got me a strange look from the person sitting next to me while I was reading the book on the plane the other day.

*sigh*
Just finished part 1. This novel is a bit of a slog and a dint in my notion that I might have an affinity with Russian literature. I don't dislike the writing, but I'm having trouble reconciling all the absurd plot developments into something coherent. I'm hoping that it falls together a bit better in part 2. |

I'm really hoping that in the second half I have my "a ha" moment, my epiphany. I have a notion as to what some of the mayhem might be referring to, but I need a stronger anchor.

Finished it a couple days ago. *I* thought the second half was better, but it took a lot of digesting to get through it. Probably better in original language, but I really enjoyed the book.

Finished just now. For those still in part 1; the narrative of the second part is more coherent and easier to follow. Liked it generally, but had to push myself a bit to keep reading though.

Just finished it.
Not on the full moon of spring, but on the full moon of the solstice. Woland would like that. |

I had to take a break to read a couple of other books. I am about 64% through though.

Yeah I finished The Master and Margarita about 10 days ago. I will hold off saying anymore until the actual discussion begins.

I finished reading the book a few days ago. I am trying to read the critical essays I checked out, but they reminded me why I didn't get a masters degree in English. It's been years since I've tried to read academic jargon and I think I've lost the ability to translate it into anything resembling ordinary English.

For July, can we have a book that is not so old that Moses was in diapers and that doesn't need a translation?
