I edited all of the discworld novels I got through the humble bundle to replace the horrible placeholder covers.
So yes. |

I’m still working on mine. Those placeholder covers are truly horrible. What were they thinking? It’s not like there aren’t nice covers for these books. |

I simply download the standard epub and convert it to whatever I like. I haven't experienced any serious troubles. I am not particular sensitive about typos. |

I will edit books I've bought, but only on very rare occasions when the book is not readable on my device. I've also had to edit a few back in the day that had font and/or font size (and in a couple of memorable occasions font color) locked by the publisher, but I haven't seen that in quite a few years.
Generally I read it as I get it--a book needs to be pretty egregiously bad before I can be bothered to "fix" it. Shari |

I download metadata and covers and add tags all the time, but don't consider that "editing" the book.
The only time I've actually used the editor has been when I've bought "watermarked" books that contain warnings about sharing the book illegally, stating that "the book was bought by [name and e-mail address]" in the actual text. Had they just had that in the beginning and/or end of the book, I wouldn't have bothered; they chose, however, to include it in the text itself in several places. But I don't think I've ever come across a book with formatting so bad that I would want to bother editing it. |

If it's fanfiction, I basically have to (IYKYK).
If it's a professionally/competently published e-book, then I don't unless there's something about the formatting that bothers me so much that I feel like I need to dedicate time out of my life to fix it. To be clear, this has only ever happened once so far. |
