I admire your ability to focus on an ebook while still paying attention to another activity. It’s mostly been comfort reads for me too, when I’m able to sit. The Liaden compilations and other short works, like James Herriot’s, are perfect for short bursts. It will be fun to have a story in Bread Alone.

I too have listened to audiobooks while walking the dog. I haven't done so in a while though. I may start up again when I find an audiobook I want to listen to.

If I actually have to pay attention, I mostly can't. But most gardening is essentially brainless, and knitting when it's long stretches of stockinette is even more brainless. So as long as I'm doing socks (my current projects), it's easy, except when I'm turning the heel. I just stop the book for that period.

And yes, we're both quite tired of the appointments. OTOH, I'm more grateful than I can say that I'm living here rather than in the US. She'd have lost the leg months ago.

I'm quite looking forward to Bread Along -- all of their bread/baker stories have been excellent and I find myself always wanting to know more about Don Eyr and the others.

Here, it's getting harder and harder to walk the dog. He's getting really old and doesn't want to go up the hill from our house, and if he goes downhill, I'd end up having to carry him home. He's a bit too large for that, I fear. Plus, of course, it's the WET COAST with a vengeance here -- we're in the middle of our 6th or 7th "atmospheric river" and already >200% of "normal" rainfall for October + November. I'm really. Really. REALLY tired of it.

Yes, this is a Jethri sequence book. I'm quite looking forward to it, though my days of being able to splurge for eARCs is pretty much behind me. However, I might just have to make an exception.

Great news gbm, thank you. I can’t wait to read it. I’ve always felt there was so much more of Jethri’s story to tell, especially given the timeframe when he was alive. It should be really interesting.

Oh, better & better. I read on Sharon’s blog that they have more than a lifetime’s worth of ideas to write about. But I did feel a little nervous, once they finished the last story arc of Shan et all.

That's the beauty of having a Universe - lots of stories over many centuries. And honestly, I don't think we've seen the last of Theo and her crew. There will be many new challenges for them, for the ships, and now for Tinsori Light.

This book is not the next book (that's Fair Trade which ships in May, 2022), nor even the one after that, which I believe is another in the Jethri series. This is a Korval book that Sharon Lee is lead on (the Jethri books have Steve Miller as the lead). No, I don't know the projected release date.
