IMHO there are 2 possible - quite obvious - things that Amazon could do:
About larger device if Amazon produced Kindle DX some Years ago they could do a similar modern Kindle (but until now there isn't anything like that). Last edited by ps67; 07-26-2020 at 11:42 AM. |

There are alot of dreamers on this thread. Let's be more realistic. I see two possibilities.
Paperwhite 5: has adjustable color temp. new Basic Kindle: has 212 ppi res up from 167 ppi. I don't see Amazon going the 600 ppi route, or introducing the color kindle yet, I don't see them adding the ability to write with a stylus or introducing larger sizes. These are things that you want, but doesn't recognize how ereaders for the past eight years have been nothing but incremental improvements. |

I’d like ability to attach BT keyboard so you can turn pages, navigate, and annotate ‘remotely’ (without touch interface), immersion reading, and return of TTS. But this should not require new hardware.

I have a big dream that will never happen and that is an ereader by Apple. Thin, slightly smaller than ipad mini but with eink or color eink and in rose gold color. That will be such a beautiful device I think.

I think you are confused. Nook NEVER had a color ereader. It was a Nook branded tablet. They can't fail at something they never had. To be a color ereader it has to have color eink dsplay.

And please don't try to revisit the ereader wars. Too many electrons have already died in those battles. eInk, LCD, RLCD, Mirasol, whatever. If it's main purpose to allow you to read books, it's an ereader. |

Apple has been designing and using their own silicon based on the ARM reference designs in iPhones, iPod Touch, Apple TV, Ipads, etc. for years and using them in far higher quantities than the Mac desktop/laptop line. Moving their Macs to the same processors (probably) gives Apple more control while reducing their costs.

And in context, HLS is right. Nook never made a color e-ink device as mistakenly implied in post #41, which was a response to speculation about a color e-ink Nook. |

You could not read books on the Nook’s color LCD screen. Thus it is not relevant to discussion of ‘color eReaders’ or whatever you want to call it.
By contrast, Entourage Edge (and Edge Jr) had both eink and LCD screen and you could read on either. |
