One question: With this FW, my device is not going to sleep automatically after 3 or 5 minutes, or whatever time I set.
Any ideas on what could be? I suspect it might be related to Play services, but just wanted to check first, or if you have found any workaround. Regards! |

I've found out that only happens when the wifi is on, regardless it is connected or not.
Anyone else experiencing this? Regards! |

Just got my T62D today. I flashed the Extended version For_update_with_firmware_Gonyx172.
I did not try to flash the previous Gonyx172 as RKBatchTool kept giving problems, as after successful switch, still lost connection. So flashed the Extended version .img ROM on SD Card. But it did not work and gave many problems: constant error messages for .acore & gapps, kept losing gmail android account, play store would not load etc. Also after reboot would revert to Russian & not let choose English as popup message would block changing language. I went to recovery & tried to flash zip, no luck. tried adb to PC .img & .zip, would load .zip but not install. Would not flash from external .zip in Recovery mode. In recovery updated "rkimage from external storage" and flashed update.img on reboot. Then it worked and has been stable for hours with everything working. Installed nova launcher & tons of reader apps. All working well. Thanks to FOV for a very good job. After reading many threads here, I assume this, specially Extended version, is still the best ROM for T62D? Thanks again FOV. Happy new year. Last edited by redaer; 01-07-2016 at 06:59 PM. |

to swap hard keys up_down exchange values for Keys 104 and 109 in rk29-keypad.kl for the hard keys
located in total_commander app: system files: system/usr/keylayout/rk29-keypad.kl move and edit in non sys area, copy back to sysfile area ################################### For home button installed as in some my tablets: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...pp58us.backkey background alpha to 0 and reduced foreground alpha too for transparent look, rearranged & dragged HOME button to top and BACK to bottom: app settings: swap tabs on top: drag buttons from right to rearrange |

I don't know. Try updating firmware from menu, see if available, try again see if model number updates. Else google firmware version number you already have. Maybe someone here knows how to determine model number?
Good luck mate. Btw, Swype keyboard is not compatible but Swift keyboard works great, using a dark theme on it. |

Trying to understand this information on this thread. So if I understand this correctly. There are 4 Boyue firmware updates. And the two ROM mods based on the Onyx C67ML that actually alters your Boyue ereader?

So the firmware updates arent anything to do with rooting the Boyue device but the two ports of the Onyx C67ML are actually rooted ROMs. Shesh Im confused I think.

Ok let me see if I have this correct. This is for the "Port full firmware with Onyx C67ML for Boyue T62+D, Energy eReader Pro+ & A6LHD2015Re" of my Boyue T62+(D).
So I use the update.img from "For_Recovery_&_PC" zip file and place it in the root of my SD Card. Which then updates my devices ROM to the Onyx C67ML firmware version 172. At that point I can then place the update.img file from "For_update_with_stock_firmware_Boyue-Gmini-Energy_Systems_Gonyx172" in the root of my SD card which then updates my devices ROM to the Onyx C67ML firmware version to 173. Is this correct? Trying to follow this thread with a lot of partial answers posted and assumed knowledge in here. As well as it being two different subjects being posted on in the same thread. |

Guns4Hire - I hope someone comes along to answer your questions. I have a Boyue T62D, but used the Boyue firmware linked in the first post instead of the Onyx, and it was super easy to install the update. (It works perfectly now.)
Is there some reason why you are choosing the Onyx firmware instead of the Boyue? If not, it is easier and less risky to just use the Boyue firmware upgrade. I'm sorry I can't be of any help with the Onyx issues. Best of luck to you! |

As far as the Onyx firmware Im curious by nature and thought I would check it out. I figure at some point I will root the device as well but not right away. |

So I just got my boyue t62d 2 days ago. had no issues with the stock firmware, but decided to try out the extended onyx port. I like that the onyx firmware is more stock android than the boyue although i do want to change up the status bar (I liked the simplicity of the boyue status bar.)
*touch the clock for the brightness settings -literally the last place I would've thought to look. *been using the port for a while now. the biggest issue I have is the screen refresh. stock boyue handles it much better. refresh on the port seems slower. I also decided to use the stock boyue key file for now as I didn't like the port key settings. eventually will mod the file. * I just need to figure out how to tie the screen refresh back to the button. the software button I don't like. it requires me to refresh the screen twice. the first time puts it in A2 mode and it looks like crap. *so besides the screen refresh not working as well as stock (which tying refresh back to the button would help alleviate the issues) this seems like a great daily driver. however if I cant get something done about the refresh issue I will go back to stock. the ghosting and general slowness of the refresh is a deal breaker for long term use. ps. what does FOV mean with "No changed the style of the original firmware Onyx, now 0% support third-party software with black themes." I understand the words, but don't know what it means for "me". Last edited by thejoker954; 02-02-2016 at 08:46 PM. Reason: update |
