I grabbed their Anne of Green Gables collection when it was offered for free and from what I have seen, they seem to be very well formatted. I have seen from reviews of their editions that they do correct errors if/when they are pointed out.

After flipping through The World's Best Street Food, posted above, I think that it belongs as much in the cookbooks thread as in this thread. I don't know if it's permitted to make a duplicate post, but if it is and someone wants to post it on the cookbooks thread, be my guest.

It's been about a day since I've posted anything.

I'm going through some very powerful withdrawal symptoms.

The only thing to do is get another "fix" by posting something.

I did a search and for some reason no one on MR apparently has mentioned MakeUseOf.com as a great place to get free ebooks. I even checked MR's Wiki page (https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Free_eBooks (a great resource, by the way. Check it out, if you haven't already, or haven't done so recently)). I've been aware of MakeUseOf.com for quite a while and have downloaded quite a few good books.

Almost all, if not all, of MakeUseOf.com's books are in some way related to computers, including covering topics concerning ebooks.

MakeUseOf.com says that the books are free. I checked the first two or three books listed and, indeed, the pdf and epub versions are free, but the Kindle (mobi) versions have a nominal charge of 99 cents each. Oh, and you can read the books online for free if that's your druthers.

Of course, I'm not going to list all of the books that the site offers, because . . . . well . . . . okay I'm too lazy. But, I'm going to list them until I get tired of doing it, so that you can get an idea of what they offer:

Nelson and the Nile by Brian Lavery

I was just taking Charles River Editors' word for it. In an email that I received yesterday, and dated April 30 at 11:18 a.m., they said, "Dear Readers: We are running our end of month special today and tomorrow, with over 40 free original titles that can be found at . . . ." "Today and tomorrow" based on the time that the email was received and the dating of the email would have been yesterday, Wednesday, April 30 and today, Thursday, May 1. I'm going to be wary of them from now on.

Thanks for letting us know about the two titles that are free today. I didn't have either one, and I got both.
