I just started using Dropbox this past weekend. It's been great so far and I can see myself using Dropbox a lot more in the future. But dude, if it they were bought by Apple, I'd drop the service as soon as the announcement was confirmed. As the saying goes, 'grass wouldn't grow under my feet'.

Likewise with the lack of 3G modularity. If they offered upgradable wifi model, people would just get that and forget to upgrade. Apple's certainly not the only one doing this kind of thing, of course, but that doesn't make the practice less annoying. |

Just don't be afraid of flying dutch SD cards. Those do not exist. SD card slot being a source of "hacking' is product of your imagination, it has nothing to do with reality. Most iSomethings were hacked within weeks of release anyway. Quote:

Yet another fantasy. Apple's share shrank from 96% last year to 74% this year, without major competitors like Samsung / Sony even entering the market and is expected to go down to 44% within couple of years. PS Oh dear. I'm done with flames in this thread. 10.2 doesn't have one. Last edited by kartu; 09-13-2011 at 04:54 AM. |

Four(or more) generations of Apple hardware died, and went away, while my, now, 70 year old mom used a PC(anno 1993). She's loaded, so I had her get an iMac.
She does just the same thing, write. It works just the same, no dif. What she tells me is: "Thank you son! You've made the cleaning lady's job so much easier." That's 'cause there's only one cable, the power cable, and that's not even touching the ground. Makes vacuuming just so much quicker. Don't really think the the cleaning lady's getting a break though, 'cause she's probably doing somthing else now. |

To all of those who whine about dropping Dropbox if Apple purchases them: good riddance if it ever happens. Dropbox has served both my iPhone and Android phones quite well over the last few years. If loss of convenience and usability is worth it for some ludicrous, ill-conceived, and imagined sense of technological idealism, then be my guest.

But we're not talking about morality here. But business and legal stuff. I'm with you, but that's not the main point here and we should not expect that to change any time soon. Sad, but true. |
