How to download Kindle eBooks has NOTHING to do with calibre. The calibre stuff here should be removed into a new thread and the how to download Kindle eBooks stuff moved to the Kindle forum. This thread is a mess and needs to be fixed so it can have the bits that belong in the Kindle forum there and the bits that belong in the calibre forum there. And actually, the calibre bits belong in the Library Management as it's about adding eBooks. So again, the entire thread in is the wrong forum. Last edited by JSWolf; 07-01-2024 at 04:37 PM. |

Actually the biggest part that is in the wrong forum is all the complaining about this thread existing in the calibre forum.
How about just taking all that whining to the Lounge? Sent from my Pixel 7a using Tapatalk |

If we're going to complain, I'd like to complain that this stickylocked thread links to the old locked thread.

I’m having an issue with a ebook cover not being displayed on the idle screen of my Paperwhite. The cover is displayed correctly when viewing the ebook in my library (smaller image). Other ebooks display the cover correctly on the idle screen.
I have disconnect and reconnected my kindle, which used to fix cover issues in the past. Any ideas why this cover refuses to display on the idle screen? |

probably because there is something about the image the kindle firmware doesnt like. The kindle firmware is extremely poor at dealing with jpeg images, rejecting various kinds of valid ones. Doing a conversion to mobi/azw3 in calibre will fix many such issues in the cover images automatically.

Hello. I saw that the thread I've used to get help converting Kindle to PDF using bluestacks.
Now, I've bought another kindle ebook, opened Bluestacks and it all the android services vanished, it's only games. I cannot find the kindle app on Bluestacks, even when searching on their google play. What's the best solution now? thanks |

See the DRM workaround: Kindle for Android thread. The first message has links to the Kindle for Android 4.16.0.75 and Kindle for Android 8.51.1.0 APKs.
Edit: Kindle for Android version 8.51.1.0 Last edited by DNSB; 07-12-2024 at 02:14 AM. Reason: Added link to apkmirror for Kindle for Android version 8.51.1.0 |

I need help converting and reading an ebook called 'How the Internet Really Works: An Illustrated Guide to Protocols, Privacy, Censorship, and Governance' using Calibre ebook viewer. I downloaded it using the Kindle PC app version 2.4.0 (70904). I have installed the deDRM plugin version 10.0.9 (the automatic alpha release with the latest changes) and the KFX Input plugin version 2.15.0, both of which are enabled.
These are the files that were present inside the folder named after the book's ASIN: Code:

Because that is a fixed-layout print replica book by default the KFX Input plugin blocks conversion of it using the regular calibre conversion dialog. The best choice is to enable the "From KFX" toolbar action and use that to convert the book to PDF format. See the KFX Input plugin documentation for details. |
