1) Rooting the Poke5 is the same as the Poke5P, detailled elsewhere.
2) Rooting the Poke5 is just a distraction from getting it to run Poke5P. |

Please help me check the custom recovery of Poke5, after reset factory on the android system, it boots to Recovery instead of to the system. I have to connect it to PC to do a command: adb shell reboot. Then it boots to the system OK.

I don't know where this thread is going or who is doing what.
I never said anything about factory reset. |

On a poke5 3.5.1 onyx system:
I did flash Poke5P rom for it OK with your custom recovery. Auto Reboot to the system OK. Then i open setting / about device / Factory reset > It Auto Reboot > It Boot to Recovery ( Not boot to onyx system) connect to PC: adb shell reboot Boot to Onyx system OK Hold the power button > Select reboot > It reboot to the Onyx system OK. Issue when factory reset. Last edited by Quyen607; 07-18-2024 at 07:51 AM. |

I'm not convinced that this device is compatible with the Poke5P.
How about that Poke5 (Chinese) boot image that I asked for? |

I finally downloaded the Poke5 update.
Both the dtb and the dtbo of the Poke5 are almost identical to the Poke5P. The kernels appear near identical too. You've done the update and it installed correctly, right? What did it do again when it rebooted? Was there ADB? Don't "factory reset". Last edited by Renate; 07-19-2024 at 09:39 AM. |

Ok, there's a new test version of this so we can proceed step by step.
It's at the same URL as before. If you're in doubt, the new version has MD5 of: 6b6405084318556f9bf39e3462d4332d Flash it to recovery using EDL or fastboot or dd. Go to recovery. Code:
C:\>adb shell # start ttyscreen -- it will type something to the terminal -- ^C # reboot |

Yes, I did autoupdate and it installed correctly. When it is rebooted in Reset factory process, the screen showed: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bdZ...ew?usp=sharing And it is in ADB mode. |

The text showed OK - I did a test with your new custom recovery on a Poke5 2024 carta 1300, the screen still showed the same as before, not any text. But the auto update function works well on both two deivices. > Cause: The screen carta 1300 is different than carta 1200. > My Idea: I want to send you its stock recovery, how can i do it? Then you can check and modify a new custom recovery on it. - On the Poke5 2024 which i flashed it with full update.zip 3.5.1 while it running 3.5.3 system, then it always boot to recovery, can not boot to system: + Make a full backup raw of it by edl /r . Just for it can be back this point if it be more bad. + Extract the full backup raw of another ok 3.5.3 poke5 2024 by edl /w > It boots OK to the system, everything is OK, but its serial number and MAC address is replaced by the SN and MAC of the poke5 which we made the full backup drawn. Question: Can we modify the SN and MAC ? Conclusion: Once we update to 3.5.3 we can not flash it by 3.5.1 ( can not downgrade ) If downgrade, it can not boot to the system. > My idea: Can we make a full update.zip 3.5.3 file ? Then we can flash it without the boot issue Last edited by Quyen607; 07-23-2024 at 05:19 PM. |

Full, raw backups are only designed to be put back on the same specific device.
I don't know off-hand where SN and MACs are. I don't know what's inside this "Poke5 2024". Whenever I issue a new version of anything, I don't care how the old version works. I asked for a specific test (which you quoted). Could you tell me what it typed in place of -- it will type something to the terminal -- |
