My other need is a large glyph selection. I've read too many ebooks where the publisher has embedded a font that does not support the glyphs used in the book so you get the .notdef glyph (blank box, box with a X or ?, etc. instead of the character). That was my reason for creating my font tester epub after reading some of David Weber's War God stories where many of the character names were not showing properly. Such names as Shīgū, Tomanāk, Sothōi, Hŭrăka, Zŭrăk, Ǣtesk & Œ̄tesk for example. BTW, if you see a white ? on a black diamond ( ), that is an indicator that an error has occurred which is very different from a valid Unicode value that has no matching glyph in the font set. |

There is a file size limit (indicated by type) IMHO this site is way better than another I frequent: I must host the images elsewhere as their ISP wants big $ |

Adobe Jenson and (recently) Feature Text. I absolutely love old style serif fonts with a low x-heights, and nothing beats good old Jenson - though Argo Pro, Capricho, and Fern Text/Micro come close.

I had been using IMBSerifSemiBold, but am trying out Bitter on my Boox Palma. I don't need font to be particularly big, but I do like it to be heavy.

IMB Plex Serif Semibold looks OK. Have you tried ChareInk6-Weighted or ChareInk6SP-Weighted? https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=184056 Last edited by JSWolf; 05-15-2024 at 10:58 AM. |

I suspect those who notice the difference between a humanist, transitional and slab serif or who are willing to debate the readability of different fonts are a pretty small chunk of the population. À chacun son goût.
