Honestly, you should just remove the Kindle implementation, as it is worthless. It is no different than just using Calibre or email to send the book to the device through Amazon. Because the book is sent through Amazon to the Kindle as a personal document, you lose formatting and typographic features that would be available if you just side loaded the book directly. Because reading progress is not synced between bookfusion and the Kindle, I really don't understand the purpose or usefulness of pretending that it is a supported device.

I really wanted to like your product, but I don't understand why it it's any better than using the Kindle or iBooks platforms, which will sync reading progress.

Thank you for trying BookFusion and providing feedback.

The ability to organize an eBook collection and easily send it to a Kindle device is used by several users. Thousands of eBooks are sent via this functionality monthly. There are even requests to support multiple Kindle devices/emails.

If you want to sync reading progress between Kindle devices then you need to use only the Kindle apps and devices. The Kindle is a closed ecosystem and as a result there exists no third party app that will sync reading progress to your Kindle device. The most that can be done is to send the files.

If the files are in MOBI/AZW then no intermediate conversion needs to occur before it is sent to your Kindle device. As a result the formatting and typographic features should be no different than if you side loaded the book directly. Reading progress is sync seamlessly between iOS, Android and Desktops(via Web) using the BookFusion app. We know there are several improvements to be made and will have significant updates combining out in the upcoming months that also integrates feedback from our early adopters.

Calibre Plugin Update v 0.6.2 - We've pushed out a small update to our plugin in Calibre to address a couple issues that were reported after the recent changes.

We’ve completed another major update to our Android app for both Tablets and Phones that introduces the start of our new Bookshelf. This is a total overhaul of the bookshelf and have serval improvements:

I've set up an account and would love to use the service, but I can't find any sort of privacy policy info. While I don't read too many subversive books, I certainly could in the future and I always feel like these sorts of solutions that provide syncing, gather analytics, etc. are just too invasive for me.

How about some zero-knowledge encryption key options?

Not sure why you would have difficulties finding it. It is linked in our footer and it is also a requirement that it is linked in the App & Play Store. You also have to agree to the terms when you sign up.

With that being said, that is what the lawyers drafted. We are not interested in your data, we charge for our service. Response to one of the FAQs:

We are not in the business of selling our users' data or ads and unfortunately nothing is really “free” in this world. The subscription allows us to provide cloud services, continuously add new features, cover infrastructure cost, and build an eBook platform that you love while protecting your privacy.

zero-knowledge encryption key options would make the service significantly harder to build initially. It is not currently on our short term roadmap but can be explored once we have enough paid readers interested in this option.

The highly requested dark mode is now fully implemented in our Android app. Dark mode is supported on all refreshed interfaces from signing up, organizing your bookshelf and reading.
