Hello,

Please, keep the aspect ratio when opening the cover.

My non-ideal solution (image_viewer_dialog.py):

Code:
self.imageLabel.setPixmap(QPixmap.fromImage(image).scaled(430, 655, Qt.KeepAspectRatio, Qt.SmoothTransformation))

Version 1.0.20 MultiUser Locking of CalibreSpy Library-Specific Preferences

Version 1.0.20- 10 Sept 2018 MultiUser Locking of CalibreSpy Library-Specific Preferences. This pertains to multiple instances of CalibreSpy running simultaneously against the identical Calibre Library. This includes a single person doing the latter, not just multiple people.

Wow that was quick

Does the remove_multiuser_status script remove the orphaned locks? If so should I include it in my Startup tasks? I'm thinking of events like a power outage.

It heals itself automatically after 2-24 hours (default is 8). The script is for when you need to remove the orphaned locks immediately ("now"). I was thinking of pc crashes when I made it self-healing.

It just locks the single icon, so it does not impede the use of CalibreSpy for what it was meant to do. Just cannot change the colors, font, etc. until any orphaned locks are removed automatically.

This is probably the best plugin I have been needing. I have so many different libraries all holding books from different sources and having different metadata, I have been trying to figure out how to get all that information into a single book. The copy/paste feature is the best. Seriously! Thanks!

One question, any chance of being able to use more custom columns? Unless I keep resetting the values and saving them, I miss out on more. I use get file name to keep track of dates added and original names, but I have the same book from different sources, so copying them from their original library to the main one is easy, but if I use those two columns, I am missing bookshelves, genre, enf, etc. If you could allow more columns, or just an overall select all custom columns if possible, I couldn't ask for anything more.

There seems to be a bug that shuts down Calibre if you hit cancel.

Also, is there a way to import the books seen in the view?

[1] The cancel key default behavior will be changed in the next version of CalibreSpy.

You should be using a .bat file to run CalibreSpy anyway, not from the GUI. That is why that ability is "off" as the default. CalibreSpy is faster that way, does its own intelligent garbage collection as a CLI, and is totally independent of the Calibre GUI.

[2] No.

Next Version

Coming in the next version, 1.0.22:

[1] More custom columns (see the attached image).

[2] Marked (4 color kind) books will be saved at Exit from CalibreSpy and then restored automatically when it next runs for that same Library. That way, the marking process can be used to keep track of up to 4 different lists of books that mean something to the user who marked them. Example: "Read Next" might be Green, and "Delete from Calibre" might be Red.

Version 1.0.22

Version 1.0.22- 13 Sept 2018 Six Additional optional Custom Columns added for a total of nine available to be used. Marked (colorized) books are now saved at exit, and restored automatically when CalibreSpy next runs. The Escape Key now does a normal "save and then exit" in the main CalibreSpy window, but in the Library-Specific Preferences Customizing window it does a normal "exit".

CalibreSpy is designed to be used when the Calibre GUI is not running. The email functionality of the Calibre GUI fully exists only when Calibre itself has been initialized and is running as normal.

As a workaround, this is how to send an email from CalibreSpy (in Windows, anyway).

[0] Select the desired book's row.
[1] Right-click in the matrix to bring up the main Context Menu.
[2] Click Open Path (or use the shortcut Ctrl+D).
[3] Right-click the ebook file
[4] Click "Send to"
[5] Click "email recipient".
[6] Your default Email Program will open with the new email ready for you to send after you add a recipient.

Well I created a batch file with 'calibre-smtp' and added that filepath to the 'Other application'. So instead of Sigil I can email books to my Kindle. Thanks for the plugin.

Version 1.0.24 Cross-Library CalibreSpy Clipboard Search Queries

Version 1.0.24- 14 Sept 2018

Multiple, Simultaneous Cross-Library CalibreSpy Clipboard Search Queries using Author, Title and/or Series. Too many words are needed to explain this, so a short video clip is attached within a zip file. Extract it. Do not load this particular .zip file as a plugin.
