Mine was shipped Monday. With previous experience I was expecting it friday but I guess I have to wait to sometime next week. In the mean time my mom's already commandeered my Kobo so I'm without a reader.

Delivery Estimate: September 22, 2010 - September 25, 2010

Lighted cover was ordered separately and it was already shipped
thereafter, gotta wait for shipping service for about another 2 days.. arghhh.

What's the main technical difference between the US and international editions (wifi only model) - would that be why the US models are shipping and the international aren't ?

I am not sure there is much difference in any of the models, given that Amazon state that all kindles now work internationally. Sim card maybe? Saturday order, Wednesday delivery - groan.

Yes, I suppose the 3G aspect would be the only genuinely different portion if at all.

My kindle went thru Dallas yesterday, 9/19
Got as far as Houston this evening, 9/20

Amazon delivery estimate: Sat. 9/25
Fedex delivery estimate (via USPS): Fri. 9/24
Another 4 or 5 days. I'm not that far from Houston.
I feel like I'm in one of those old Heinz Ketchup commercials
