You might want to try 10.0.0.9 instead. On noDRM's page, click on the +4 releases and then download the .zip file from Assets under 10.0.0.9 (see the Changelog for what has changed).

Yes. Version 10.0.9 is required for removal of the KFX DRM currently in use by Amazon.

This is an inadequate set of directions, thanks to a fundamental design flaw in GitHub. You must log in to GitHub first or you won't even see the "Assets" portion of the window. GitHub's design is "we won't show you everything if you're not logged in," which is, umm, dumber than a box of rocks. If you want to require a login before actually accessing the material, that's one thing; hiding the very existence of the material that is held on a public repository, that's just dumb. (And just logging in while on the extra-releases page doesn't work, either.)

Bad GitHub. No cookie. Which is precisely why I don't stay logged in except when actually performing a function on a specific site. (It's not paranoia when they really are out to get you.)

Entirely separate issue:

What is the highest version number of Kindle for PC that works reliably to import books for KFX conversion?

Reason: I sometimes borrow library books, and don't want to keep multiple instances/versions of Kindle for PC installed. Since early last year, the Kindle-via-Overdrive interface at libraries has required Kindle for PC installations substantially greater than the canonical 1.17... but there have been lots of problems running KFX Input with the very-very-very-most-up-to-date version of Kindle for PC, so I've been very reluctant to update it. It's possible that some Kindle for PC versions in the 1.3x range might work with the library check-outs, too, so that I wouldn't have to keep multiple installations.

(Preemptive note: "Suggesting" the purchase of more hardware, like an eInk reader, is a nonstarter. Just. Don't.)

There must be some problem with your browser, because I'm not logged in and can see it just fine.

Note that "▶ Assets" can be clicked on to show the actual files.

Yes. That is a "print replica" book.

Since I'm totally new here and at eBooke, etc., I don't understand 'how to use either the From KFX user interface plugin...'. Is it another plugin or a special execution mode?

The error you are seeing is caused by a bug in the KFX Input plugin that causes it to fail when converting Print Replica books using calibre 5.x versions. That will be fixed in the next release of the plugin.

You will need to update calibre in order to process that book if you cannot wait.

Just for information:

I tried the 'From KFX' option (EPUB is offered only) and it still causes the same error. No issue for me, I'll have the opportunity to switch to new notebook (Win 11 and thus most recent Calibre) soon...
