Well, it's more like sprayed into the outlets. Yes. And the spray causes the metal to corrode which, in turn, starts a short and a fire.

So, I took these plastic boxes, and cut the bottoms out, and then for the ones that are going to have cords in them full time, I am cutting out a notch at the bottom so I can close them. THEN, I'm attaching microfiber covers (velcro attached) to each box that I can toss in the wash every few days and then easily put back on.

The one box (with Warren, the white cat) is only partly done. The one next to Duncan (black) is finished. It takes a while to custom fit the covers.

I have heard of that happening, but only with outlets in the floor. I do have one of those, but someone is apparently bright enough not to pee into that one.

i know ! i got lucky, they're pretty good natured. typing activity (all activity, in fact) currently hindered by the presence of the big black one on my knees. she is not really lap-sized to start with but she makes it so much worse by sprawling in all directions. only one hand free.

My dog is currently on my lap... and kitty is occupying her own chair!

dog in lap !!! and i thought i had problems !! (actually, "bast the annoying dog-cat" has moved to the bed now so i can type unfettered. that's her full name. it evolved after i had had her for a while. )

Our first cat was a really relaxed cat... Neither of our two current cats really climb in that top basket, though one tries occasionally (and always has trouble getting out of it again )

that thing is amazing ! did you build it ? how do you keep it from tipping over ? i would like to build / get something for my cats to climb and sleep in (although god knows i have nowhere to put it) but i'm always a bit worried if they jump on it they would knock it over. once bast did that jumping on the clothes drying rack and it catapulted her out the window. okay, i know, it's not made for cats, but still... it made me a bit paranoid.

haha she's not entirely a psychopath but she does do that nutty cat thing where she will suddenly go crazy running around the house!

when you mentioned dog-cat i thought of this

hee ! i was imagining a much bigger dog. i'm impressed though ; often when one cat is on my lap, the other cat wants to come too, but the first cat doesn't want to share, or the second cat will sit on top of the first cat (that is bast's speciality ) so of course the first cat will leave... so i never have both of them together (maybe it's for the best...).
