Amazon has excellent dictionaries and they are easy to add or remove from a device. I doubt that Sony's are that much better or varied. So their device is more expensive then a current generation Paperwhite, a bit lighter, and you have to use a cover in order to protect the back of the device. So folks who prefer no cover do not have an option. Sorry but this is not a winning formula. |

Amazon has no bilingual dictionaries build in. And the bilingual dictionaries in the kindle store are pretty bad. On the spanish webite its written that there will be a Sony Reader PRS T3S without Cover and 160 grams. This version also should be much cheaper. |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMu1PY1NDCw So I corrected my message. But strangely the Sony PRS-T3's screen does not look flat. So the Kobo Aura's screen has two advantages : flat, and a front-light. |

thats right, thats because the T3 has an infrared touchscreen. I know some of you prefer capacitive touchscreen (Kobo Aura, Kindle Paperwhite). But i like the infrared for e-reader because you can use it with every pen and even with glove...

There is a backside without any cover for sure because the leaked picture from FCC doesn't have a cover but a backside:
Maybe you'll get a plain backside if you buy a new cover or you can buy one for some Euros, who knows. |

I have no problem if somebody says there is no much diference to the reader released two years ago. But it was talked about a period of five years, and there are many change since the PRS 500, so other statements are ridiculous.
Yes there are not so much change from PRS 650/350 to PRS T3. But - in spite of the frontlight and resolution - other readers had also not so much changes in this period. The T3 has the same resolution. The only lack is the lack of the frontlight. And - believe it or not - there are some folks prefer reader without frontlight. Then they can buy a less costly Kobo, Nook, or Paperwhite and turn the light off. Or all the way down.

Why does calibre not support collections on the Kindle or shelves on the Nook? And Kobo ist really to hyperactive in changing the firmware, at least to me. Last edited by samy2; 09-03-2013 at 10:22 AM. |

In the original article it is written "Hay una aplicación dedicada al prestamo de ebooks en las bibliotecas" which is "There is an application dedicated to loan ebooks in libraries" in english (via Google Translate).
I'm not sure what they mean with this. There has always been an OverDrive app for people in the US. It would be awesome and a very huge advantage if people in Europe would get such apps, too. Then European libraries could sell the T3 just in the library. That would be really great and convenient since a lot of people use their Sony Reader to read E-Books from the public library. But Sony would need contracts with 30 different library systems then, I'm not sure if that's manageable. |

Sony PRS T3S
Dear Librista,
There will be also a smaller version of the PRS T3? " Las medidas del PRS-T3 son 109x160x11,3 mm con un peso de 200 gramos. Por su parte, el modelo PRS-T3S: es más pequeño y ligero: 107x160x8,8 mm y 160 gramos de peso." Can you tell us more about this model? |
