ULTIMATE THRILLER BOX SET
at Kindle store
http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Thril.../dp/B0073J0XVC - NON-affiliate link (I hope ;-) (there is no ref= in the link) )
It contains five books:
Origin by J.A. Konrath
Desert Places by Blake Crouch
Darkness on the Edge of Town by J. Carson Black
Watch Me Die by Lee Goldberg
Disintegration by Scott Nicholson

The set is DRM free, so after downloading it to Kindle For PC and simple conversion you can read it on any reader of your choice.

Please note that Scott Nicholson is our fellow Mobilereader.

Get it while it lasts.

One more thing:
I haven't read it yet, but it has pretty nice rating once you disregard those two 1-star ratings posted by people that couldn't figure out how to download the book.
No longer free today (although it is only 99 cents or borrowable from Amazon via the KLL; not lendable to a fellow Kindler).

Ooops ...
I did look for it ...
I do not know how could I overlook it.
Perhaps it was caused by fact that I only looked at relatively recent posts.

Noticed that: They're still free, but only to Amazon Prime members.

Too bad I've been busy since last Thursday and didn't have time to visit MR until now.

I'm not a fan of any of these writers, but free admission would have meant I'd try a few of their books and give them a chance.

I think I must have almost everything Scott Nicholson has ever written or co-written by now. In 2012 he's had an absolute blitz on nearly all his works at various times.

I've only read one of his books which was The Red Church and I was a bit half-half about it at the time. It didn't put me off him as an author though, so I really should find some time to slot one or two of his other books in.

No, despite the wording, they are not "free to prime members".

They are free to "borrow" for prime members, if they are willing to use their one-per-month loan privileges on them. That costs a bit over $6/book, if you aren't a big video watcher and don't have much shipped.

Otherwise, Prime members pay the exact same amount as anyone else (not that 99 cents is that much, but it isn't "free").

Not being an Amazon Prime member myself, I wouldn't have double-checked that this clever wording and formatting meant otherwise --

Digital List Price: $0.99 What's this?
Prime Members: $0.00 (read for free)
Kindle Purchase Price: $0.99

But since we're being such sticklers, your use of quotation marks is incorrect. You don't need to enclose any word in quotes which you think might be questioned. Quote marks are intended to enclose actual quotations. "It isn't 'free'" doesn't really make sense, since you're using the word free in context and with its intended meaning, which is not the same as quoting Amazon or me to suggest that "free" doesn't mean free.

Anyway, it's too bad the books are no longer free for anyone.

Last night I went through all my Nicholson acquisitions and sorted out the redundant stand-alones. Didn't delete them, just moved them to my calibre "archive" library. The archived stand-alones that I had gotten as previous freebies included American Horror, Cursed, and Ashes.

As for the box sets:
Dark Spells set and Ethereal Messengers set are both made redundant if one has all four Scott Nicholson Library sets.

Hope this saves someone a little work if they were planning to do the same. Now that I've done that, I'm really wanting to check his complete list of work and see what I might not have.

I think I found a new one from Aiden James, and will probably be gone real soon:

Edit: Mr. James sez it's only on till midnight tonight! Act NOW!

http://www.amazon.com/Vampires-Ghost...602743&sr=1-18

Some of these have been offered by James previously as stand-alones or in other collections, but some I know I don't have.

Quote:
Vampires, Ghosts, and God (Five Novel Box Set)
Five novels by bestselling author, Aiden James

The Vampires’ Last Lover:

Txema Ybarra is the most unenviable nineteen-year-old girl alive. Born with an unusual ‘twin teardrop’ birthmark on her neck, Txema is caught in the middle of a vampire war after all the other bearers of the birthmark are murdered. The race is on to save her blood, and her very life, for the survival of Les Amantes de Vampire. Otherwise, Txema will be the last one…the vampires’ last lover.

Cades Cove:

Buried deep in a Smoky Mountain ravine lies a terrible secret. David Hobbs, vacationing with his wife Miriam, inadvertently stumbles upon a small cloth ‘keepsake’ bag and a broken human tooth. David ignores her pleas to hand the items over to a park ranger, which opens a doorway closed for nearly a hundred years and unleashes hell on earth…..or at least hell in David and Miriam's world.

Plague of Coins:

William Barrow carries a dark secret. A very dark secret. An archivist for the Smithsonian Institute and also a part-time operative for the CIA, no one would ever suspect the handsome ‘thirty-ish’ William is in fact the most reviled human being to ever walk the earth. His infectious warmth and sense of humor make such an assertion especially hard to believe. But long ago, William Barrow had another name…one that is synonymous with shame and betrayal: Judas Iscariot.

The Forgotten Eden:

Hidden within rural Alabama lies an unseen world feared for centuries by the residents of Carlsdale. Jack Kenney is the only person to ever survive a visit to this place long enough to tell about it. Held captive by the FBI in connection to a murder, Jack leads Agent Peter McNamee on an extraordinary roller-coaster ride involving a mystical and deadly realm within America's Deep South.

Deadly Night:

When Country singer Candi Starr is found dead in Nashville's esteemed West End, it proves to be just the beginning of a murder spree involving anyone close to the music superstar. Candi’s friend, ghost hunter and psychic Fiona Alea, and her handsome rock n' roll husband, Jimmy, soon find themselves on a roller-coaster thrill ride to learn the chilling truth behind Nashville’s darkest secret.

Two more sets on Amazon from Scott Nicholson, which seem to be for today only.

The first contains two books previously featured in the Scott Nicholson Libraries -The Red Church and Drummer Boy - so if you missed those, grab this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Littlefield-Tw...8902833&sr=1-5

The second is Mad Stacks: http://www.amazon.com/Mad-Stacks-Sto...8902833&sr=1-8. This is the third box set of 3 short story collections (previously featured were Bad Stacks and Odd Stacks).

And for something not from Scott:

Best New Zombie Tales Trilogy (Volume 1, 2 & 3) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...w_myk_ro_title

Warning: It is a Daley-edited anthology, so there may be promo excerpts at the end. It doesn't say in the blurb, but that's kind of his thing so I thought I should mention it.

You could actually compile an ebook, under your name, and title it something like this: "The Scott Nicholson Bibliographic Guide" Of course, it would be out-of-date in about 2 or 3 days.

It would be helpful for Nicholson fanatics or completists.
