Killing Wisptis: A non-invasive alternative method :)
Hello all,
I don't know, whether this thread is still alive, but here's my two cents: I configured wisptis.exe in my Pop-up & Spyware blocker (AdsGone v5.0.1 build 16) as a spyware. Whenever wisptis.exe runs, my blocker kills it automatically. Prolem solved! Have a great time... ---------------------------------------- GT |

Just a word of appreciation to those putting solutions to the above mentioned MS nightmare on this board.
I wish more of the Internet was filled with souls like you- especially for us tech challenged types... |

I think Alex is including one section specifically for IT-related discussions like this one once his site update is done. Hope to see you onboard then!

Why you would want wisptis
There is a reason for running wisptis on a non-tablet pc. If you're running the ink api to send emails or msn messenger messages that include handwriting (or any kind of handdrawn image), you apparently need it.
Still, this isn't really "essential" functionality, so I understand those who want to get rid of it. |

As an FYI, I am running Office XP and still have wisptis.exe on this Windows XP machine. I suspect this is not an Office 2003 issue, rather Windows XP.

WISPTIS.EXE
FYI
WISPTIS.EXE is a parasitic program that can bring your browsing to a screeching halt. Get rid of it! Visit Microsoft.com for info. tr |

My two cents...
Not to beat a dead horse.....
This thread is quite long and I'm sure everyone now has uninstalled/disabled wisptis.exe. But for me the quickest/easiest way was to simply locate wisptis.exe and then DENY myself read/execute priveleges. Seems to work for me. eric |

if you look up wisptis.exe on microsoft you can see that its related to microsoft journal viewer (AND NOT TO ACROBAT). uninstall journal viewer if you don't need it.
don't know how it pertains to office 2003 |
