You know it's farking winter when the radio announcer says you're about to get 22-28 inches of snow.... which is what's called for in Maryland right now. And here it comes, too! I'm so glad I have many new ebooks to read, and hot chocolate mix to enjoy with them!

It's fun. Next time we hit -25C I'll try to take some pictures. Might have to wait a bit, only -18C now and not expected to get cold anytime soon.

We ended up with 30 in Germantown, not including the drifts.

Parts of Brisbane had 100mm of rain overnight. We got 1.2mm. I'm really missing the summer rain here (and I will be until the first summer house leak). We got the humidity and cloud (didn't fall below 25C overnight) but all heavy rain is either south or north.

Cheers,
Marc

You think about buying a bike during the six weeks of the year when riding a bike (without collapsing from dehydration and hyperthermia) seems like a good idea.

6 weeks?

Hm, maybe if all the days I rode were concurrent it would add up to that.

NNNNAAAAAAHHH, it's gotta be more than 42 days a year!?!?

You know it's farking winter when you discover the high-falutin' high-tech gizmo you bought that magically transmits the outside temperature to another gizmo inside your nice warm house bottoms out at -39.9. First time that happened I was mildly confused. It was reading -39.9 when I left for work one day and was still reading -39.9 when I came home - hadn't budged all day. Took a while to realize the silly thing won't display temperatures colder than that.

It's an old tradition... mercury freezes at -40 (C or F) - so it just can't get any colder...

I don't know, hon, you didn't get to ride last year much because it kept raining. I don't think you made it to 42 days.

That happens every year down there. I kept wanting to push them back down into the ground and tell them to wait a little longer!! Up here they seem to be a little more cautious.
