I can tell you for certain the 2E looks better than the HD. My phone camera tries to smooth things out, but there is a definite improvement between the HD and 2E.

According to this blog post, there's not much of a difference between 2E and BW.

Maybe it's just the camera angle, but the 2E looks way better than the HD. The HD looks washed out and low contrast (grey text instead of black).

That pretty much matches reality. Maybe throwing the Color into the mix helped. When I tried comparing the HD and 2E directly, the images made them look similar.

But it looks like the focus is best on the 2E (since it's in the middle where the camera was) and the Colour and HD on the peripheral. I'm wondering what the 2E vs HD would look like if the HD was in the middle and the 2E on the left side. I know my HD's screen is clearer than this picture would indicate.

Yes, if Zod is feeling generous today, taking some shots of only the HD and only the 2E in the center of the frame would be nice for comparison purposes.

https://www.reddit.com/r/kobo/commen...t_impressions/ If I can find the app that's supposed to not correct out the warm light, I might post a comparison between my HD and Tolino Shine 3. (I saw an app mentioned in one of these threads... maybe this one.) |

Thank you for the pictures. I also would not buy a colour right now. Hopefully in the future the screens will improve.

Assuming that the used ebook AND the used font/font-size AND the used firmware on those 3 devices are exactly the same, I notice that every device uses a different hyphenation schema for the visualization. Which is odd.

Do you by any chance have the better hyphenation dictionary installed on the HD or 2E?
