Personally, I would like to thank Amazon for
1) Releasing a new version to address those who ridiculed Kindle owners for owning a fugly and clunky device.
2) For not tempting some of us happy with the Kindle 1 (specifically me) with an upgrade we (I) didn't need.

You know, I feel the same way. If the new model was just a bit more of an upgrade, I'd be about $400 poorer right now with a Kindle2 & cover on order.

And if the new model diminishes the 'ugly" complaints from people who never used one (or even saw one in person), that's all to the good.
