Escape to Murray River by Robert Elmer, 1st in his Adventures Down Under series of Australia-set YA historical adventure thrillers, originally out from Bethany House in 1997. Twelve-year-old Patrick McWaid’s world is turned upside down when his father is framed for a crime and sent on the last prison ship to Australia in 1867. Desperate to keep his family together, the McWaids decide to find passage on another ship headed “down under.” But leaving Dublin, Ireland, means leaving the only home they’ve ever known. And what will they do when they reach Australia? Then Patrick learns his grandfather was sent to Australia thirty years earlier. No one has head from him in years, but perhaps the senior McWaid might help them—if only they can find him. Their hopes high, Patrick and his family set sail. What kind of new life will they find? |

The Eden Project by John Bolin, 1st in his Peter Zachary series of action adventure thrillers, originally out from Random House's Crown Publishing Group's Christian-oriented Multnomah imprint in 2010, or so the UK site claims (main credits the same paperback to Bolin's own self-pub imprint). That said, the author does have other (non-fiction) Multnomah books available in print and on iTunes listed as ultimately originating from Random House and with Publisher's Weekly reviews. Anthropologist Alex Forsythe spent three years studying a remote tribe in the Amazon jungle when they mysteriously vanished without a trace. Months later, a teenage girl from the tribe turns up babbling about a horrifying place her people had been taken. The girl’s body is ravaged by a strange malady, and blood tests reveal an unknown, lethal pathogen. Alex realizes she must find the source of the outbreak if there is to be any hope of a cure. Nearby, former Army Ranger Peter Zachary leads a small team into the jungle to film a reality show created to explore and explain paranormal phenomena. When Alex and Peter’s paths cross and they join forces, they face the most dangerous adversary they’ve ever encountered—and a technology that threatens the future of humanity. Faith and science collide as Peter and Alex discover the dark secret at the heart of The Eden Project. |

Free from the author via KDP Select @ Amazon:
The True Princess by Angela Hunt, with illustrations by Diana Magnuson, originally out from small press Chariot Family in 1992. Hunt has also been a Tyndale House author, IIRC. NB: You will need a particular level of Kindle device or app to get and read this, please see product page for details. A Parable in the truest sense, this story teaches children the meaning of Jesus' words, "Whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant". The concept of royalty pervades the Bible, and this book offers an opportunity for parents and teachers to teach children about being royalty in God's family. Full-color illustrations. |

Free from the author via KDP Select @ Amazon:
Margo by Jerry B. Jenkins, who IIRC is one half of the "Left Behind" series writing team, from which we've gotten at least two volumes of such previously as official publisher promo freebies (I kind of wonder if they'll repeat one for the release of the new film, which incidentally has garnered a surprising celebrity endorsement on its official Facebook page). This is 1st in his Margo Mysteries series of inspirational romantic detective suspenses, this installment originally out from Moody Books' Jeremy Press imprint in 1979, if I'm deciphering the linked paperbacks correctly. NB: If you want all 13 of these things, apparently Jenkins has put together an omnibus edition via Smashwords and thence to Kobo where it should be couponable. The first of thirteen books in the Margo Mysteries series. These suspenseful stories of mystery, romance and intrigue have become favorites of hundreds of thousands of loyal readers . Follow the relationship of Philip and Margo, who meet as young adults in crisis and grow in love with each other and with God as they begin their careers as private detectives. |

3 Theories of Everything came to my attention when I read an interesting article called Buddhism for Beginners, which is an extract from the book. I got a eReaderIQ notice today that the price is now $0.00:

Wiersbe on the Book of Job--Now Free
Another free commentary from the pen of Warren Wiersbe.
Be Patient (Job): Waiting On God in Difficult Times (The BE Series Commentary). By Warren W. Wiersbe. Rated 4 1/2 stars from 18 reviews at the present moment. Print list price $14.99; digital list price $12.99; Kindle price now $0.00. http://www.amazon.com/Be-Patient-Job...rds=be+patient. I noticed that the ebook is free at Christianbook, also, for those wanting ePub; I didn't check elsewhere. My posting of this book does not necessarily mean that I agree with or endorse any doctrinal positions in the book. Description Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people? Warren W. Wiersbe tackles this question as he explores the life of Job in his commentary Be Patient. Through Job's story, we are reminded of God's sovereignty and encouraged to endure the suffering in our own lives. In a single day, Job's wealth was plundered, his ten children were killed, and his health was taken. His friends judged him and his wife did not stand by her man. But Job held on to his trust in Almighty God—a Father who is always good and always faithful. In addition to restoring his wealth and relationships, God gave Job a much greater blessing: a deeper knowledge of Himself and His ways. Last edited by GtrsRGr8; 10-07-2014 at 04:59 PM. |

There's kind of a strange study Bible available for free right now.
FCA Athlete's Bible: All-In is free at Barnes & Noble, Christianbook (where it's also DRM-free) and Amazon. Still $15.49 at Kobo. The translation is the HCSB, which Holman seems now to be calling the CSB. I glanced through it and there are a lot of short Bible studies that (unsurprisingly) are predominantly sports-related. B&H also has a couple of $.99 books that looked interesting enough to pick up:
Christian America?: Perspectives on Our Religious Heritage edited by Daryl C. Cornett B&N Amazon This is a point/counterpoint-style book of differing views about whether or not the US is a "Christian nation". The Lion and the Lamb by Andreas J. Köstenberger, L. Scott Kellum and Charles L Quarles B&N (still $9.99 at Amazon) The Lion and the Lamb is a collection of summaries of the New Testament books. I haven't looked through them yet, but I've read books by all three authors and you can bet that the book will be extremely conservative theologically. I'll also point out that I looked some more at the FCA Athlete's Bible from the previous post. It's an epub3 and the footnote links don't work for me with ADE 1.7. That also means that it'll very likely be a kepub if you get it from Kobo. The actual study notes don't have anything in particular to do with athletics and don't seem to be particularly in depth, but they're a different set than either the HCSB Study Bible or the Apologetics Study Bible (the two other HCSB study Bibles that I own). |

If you missed them a few weeks ago, The MacArthur Bible Commentary and the NKJV edition of The MacArthur Study Bible are both on sale again for $6.99.
Commentary: B&N Kobo Amazon Study Bible: B&N Kobo Amazon The NKJV Study Bible is also $6.99. B&N Kobo Amazon If you've waited this long for the NKJV Study Bible, you may want to wait a little longer. I noticed that there's a new "full color" version available for preorder. I'll be curious to see what kind of "full color" comes out in an epub. The Chronological Study Bible (NKJV) is $7.99 B&N Kobo Amazon |

That seems like a strange title for a book of summaries of the New Testament books. I never would have guessed it from just seeing the title. Just goes to prove the old saying, "don't judge a book by its title." ha |
