I suppose it depends on how pissed off a person is with behavior hidden in what is supposed to be a very readable language.
Flip a coin or pick a side - positive feature or negative feature to not need Java in the system. My position on Android is about the same - Sure, I could port the drivers - but why? I can't think of any reason why I would want Android on my Kindles. Just no interest in that sort of project here. |

Ah, ok... that wasn't clear to me. Then try this: run "sudo tail -f /var/log/syslog" in a terminal, then plug in the Kindle. There should be at least *something* happening - post that something here.
